Strother, 6-0, 230 pounds, is a rookie who was signed by the Redskins in April as an undrafted free agent out of New Mexico. He started all 13 games for the Lobos in 2003 and tied for the team-high with 100 tackles (50 solo). Strother also scored a pair of touchdowns off blocked punts as a senior.

Gotta love Hasbeen , Steele gets released from the Plowboys and Hasbeen goes for the guy from the Lobos ....
Cowboys | Steele Released - from www.KFFL.com Tue, 31 Aug 2004 19:23:27 -0700 The Dallas Cowboys have announced the release of LB Markus Steele. Player Profile PRO: Possessing solid speed, aggressiveness and athletic ability, Markus Steele fits the mold for Dallas linebackers. In a defensive scheme that thrives on the quickness and speed of its linebackers, Steele found a home as a rookie starter at strongside linebacker in 2001. He moved into a reserve role as a second-year player in 2002, and should challenge for playing time as a reserve in 2003. A fourth-round selection (122nd overall) in 2001, Steele took over the starting job in Week Six of his rookie season and never looked back. He made a name for himself as a very stout run defender who has the skills necessary to do battle with offensive tackles while also being able to cover tight ends. In his two years in Dallas, he has displayed the versatility to play at either the strongside or middle linebacker positions. |

At first glance it makes you wonder, but then, might you not also wonder why the guy got cut? The kid from New Mexico is an unknown, but Steele went from being a commodity to not even lasting until the final cutdown. Something\'s wrong with him, it has to be.

Don\'t read too much into Steele, he\'s been an overall disappointment here in Dallas. Had the skills, just couldn\'t put it all together.
