Percy Harvin ?
We have a plethora of RB's to trade , I know they have AP but they're going to run him dry ...
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Poster child for stress induced headaches. Just what we need, more overpaid unreliable players
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Someone remind me why are we worried about offensive players this year?
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Wait a minute...
We had the 31st ranked defense and were in the top 5 on offense, why would we worry about trading for an offensive player? |
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Oh wait its everyone gets a retarded post Sunday
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
I wouldn't touch him, but we where 7-9 so every position should be scrutinized. I believe Henderson is gone, but we are going to replace him with a guy already on the roster with Nick Toon. He is going to show up in a big way this upcoming season.
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
If Henderson is gone there may be some interest, I seem to remember
a lot of dropped balls this season. |

Hopefully he can see the field in 2013... such a BIG target for Brees. |
Re: Percy Harvin ?
We already have Percy Harvin on our team, except he goes by the name Darren Sproles...sans migraines.

The migraines are no longer an issue for Harvin - he hasn't had "an episode" in something like a year now. The bigger issue is that Minnesota is not going to trade away Harvin for anything less than a blockbuster trade where they would have to get a quality player in return and some high draft picks. Minnesota has been struggling with having no real quality depth on their receiving corp, and after Harvin went down for the season, Minnesota couldn't really do anything else than run the ball with AP and throw short crossing passes to their TE Rudolph. So, they wouldn't trade away their only explosive receiving threat for any deal that the Saints would find worthwhile to even think about. |
Re: Percy Harvin ?
No interest at all. Attitude, injuries, inconsistency, etc.
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Yep, absolutely no interest what-so-ever in Percy.
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Can he play NT?
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Well its not full-retard.
Devery Henderson is likely a goner, and Joe Morgan looks great so far, but he's still real young and developing. Personally I'm not interested in Harvin, but I do think we'll need another veteran WR before the season starts. |

I'm not rally interested. he is a great player but would be a luxury we couldn't afford. I would not be surprised to see him with the Dolphins this year.
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
WR isn't a priority this year, but for people who keep talking about how deep we are there, you need to consider that we've had virtually the same core of receivers for about 7 years now. At some point, you gotta reload. Toon has proven nothing, and Roby has never been a part of our offense. He shows some things in pre season, but that's it. I agree with others that Henderson is likely gone.
Joe Morgan has shown great potential, and should take over Devery's role, but Moore and Colston are the only proven guys. Both of them have injury history. If Toon steps up, we're ok. If he doesn't, then I would expect the Saints to bring in another WR next off season. |
Oh frikken hell no!!!!!!
That guy is more poison for a locker room than TO. Some people always want what someone else has. |
Re: Percy Harvin ?
If we do go after a receiver next off-season ( I can't imagine them pursuing one this year) I really hope it isn't Harvin. Harvin is really a slot guy, but we use Sproles in the slot when he's not lined up in the backfield. That's just the football reason why I don't want him.
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
I mean honestly, when Harvin is going full steam, there really aren't many more explosive and versatile offensive weapons in the whole league, and that is as objective as I can be about this debate.
Every single team in the league should want to have him on their roster, and the so-called problems he reportedly invokes in the locker room are very much exaggerated by the media - surprisingly. |
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Great Talent...On the sidelines as much as he is on the field...nope
While the O looked decent last year it truly wouldn't hurt to tighten up the receiving corps, just need to look another direction |

Re: Percy Harvin ?
I'd trade our second round pick for him in a heart beat.
|
He is a superb talent but not the right for for me.Id rather get a late draft pick to come in and be ready to challenge in the next year or two. Some interesting late rounders about that with a bit of work could be a steal.

Wait, we don't have a second rd pick in 2013. |
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Outside of Offensive Tackle, We need to spend the little money we have on Defense.

Keeping or replacing Bushrod is going to place us around 28 million over the cap. Oh, and we have to bump de la Puente's salary up several notches as well since he's a restricted free agent. Lets just say we're at 30 million over. And Jimmy Graham's a free-agent next year. Bye Bye Vilma, Smith, Harper, Ivory, Henderson, and likely several others shockers we don't see coming. |
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Not a priority

Re: Percy Harvin ?
Whoah, didn't expect this much back lash.
The facts are these: This guy would be our best WR, easily. And our third best RB. But landing him will be impossible. We have nothing of value for the Vikings. Plus, he's apparently a problem child. If this were Madden, I'd make the move in a heartbeat, but if this were Madden, I'd own t-shirts from multiple New Orleans Saints Super Bowl victories and not one. |

Re: Percy Harvin ?
Maybe not Harvin but I will admit that our WR core is not getting any younger
I like Toon but i dont like when a rookie is placed on injure reserve before he ever takes a regular season snap. Henderson is at 30 Colston, Moore, Sproles, are all coming up to 30 (29) And Pierre Thomas is right behind them (28) |
Re: Percy Harvin ?
swapping draft picks and trade asap. sure. he is IR waiting to happen
|
Re: Percy Harvin ?
Lets be real, there is no way we can entertain getting him with the cap situation we are in. To those that don't think he would be worth every penny of what he ends up getting, ya'll are crazy!
Him and Peterson is there entire offense. Every team they played knew he was getting the ball and they still couldn't stop him. He is easily one of the most underrated receivers in the league. He had some headache issue in the beginning but seems to have gotten that straightened out. The last injury to his ankle was major. Could have happened to anybody. |
Re: Percy Harvin ?
This guy would be top 2 best on our offense. If u could breed a person for this system it's him. Even though I hate him for fantasy football reasons and I call him pu$$y harvin
