Re: Sean Smith
He is a big, aggressive corner that gave Larry Fitzgerald fits in 2012 however he is a bit too inconsistent for my taste. If I'm not mistaken, I think he led the league in combined TD's and 1st downs. More importantly I read he will be demanding a Brandon Carr type contract and that money should be spent on a NT/DE in my opinion.

Re: Sean Smith
I have been pushing taller, more physical, less injury ridden corners since the Tracy Porter, Jabari Greer tandem started..... Many of the members here gave me grief saying the height of a corner didn't matter..... and they were right..... It didn't matter the height of the corner, we got roasted.....
I like Sean Smith, I don't love him and there are two reasons..... 1. He is hamstrung to Miami.... they have no other corner options he is going to be franchised before they allow him to test the market 2. If your paying him #1 corner money your wasting your time..... He'll lock down your second option reciever all day long... But you can't put him against the Brandon Marshall's and Victor cruz's of the world..... |

Re: Sean Smith
This is a guy I am very interested in. I don't see them tagging him. They'll use that on long. He is inconsistent and that is what they will let him walk or test the market first. Can we afford him? Likely not. But he can lock down a side. His hands are suspect. He guesses. He doesn't "feel" the receiver. But his size, speed and desire are damn intriguing.

Re: Sean Smith
Long will get tagged, not Smith. I like Sean Smith, but he'll ask for too much money.

Re: Sean Smith
He is really inconsistent, but he also had more interceptions than any of our corners in 2012. Which is a plus, his height and roughness of play is also intriguing. The contract scares me most of all.
I say we sign Porter again, and maybe make a run after Goldson from the 49ers'. Goldson is a beast, and he hits like a train (Which I love seeing xD). Goldson also doesn't need a whiny f%#%ing crybaby c#%t of a coach like Harbaugh (Such a F$%#KNG blowhard!). As for Porter, I think he would be a good pickup, but he may have signed a deal with the devil with the Broncos. I still think the Saint's should go after him. As well as Reed, Kruger, and another NT to replace Bunkley, or at least rotate with him. I think we might be set after that. I don't think we will be able to afford Reed or Kruger, and another NT. I would love to have all three. |

Re: Sean Smith
inconsistent is the word of the year with his contract. this is a player i believe needs a change or a contract filled with incentives based on performance. Rumors have contract demands way to high. Just like Long, who was tagged last year so odds are he wont this year and as for Sean is he really that elite of a player to tag?
His issue are with smaller quicker wide out not the big boys. Coming out of the draft i always thought Safety was his position |
