On a realistic note
I'm not quite sure how we are on CAP room but we need to go after some defensive players this year, this has to be one of the best defensive draft classes i've ever witnessed. I say we really need to go after Paul Kruger, guy plays lk a freak of nature of nature on every play would deff be a force to add to our 3-4 pass rush. Who else as far as underated free agents do you guys realistically see us bringing in or going after.

Re: On a realistic note
we are 14 million over the cap right now and that's not including our unrestricted free agents, I believe...
On a realistic note; there is absolutely NO way, we can afford Paul Kruger We're going to have to build through the draft this year... |

Re: On a realistic note
Here are some names I'll be watching out for
DL RICHARD SEYMOUR RANDY STARKS RICKEY JEAN-FRANCIOS GLENN DORSEY LB TIM DOBBINS ERIK WALDEN MANNY LAWSON LARRY FOOTE CB/SS LOUIS DELMAS PATRICK CHUNG CEDRIC GRIFFIN GLOVER QUINN RASHEAN MATHIS MIKE JENKINS I'm sure some of these guys will want more than we can afford and I didn't include obvious wishes like Kruger, Reed, DRC, or Ellerbee IMHO any collection of a few of the names I mentioned would make us a solid unit on D |

Re: On a realistic note
The Saints can't probably afford to bring in a guy like Kruger, because there'll be a lot of teams going after him, which will result in a bidding war where there won't be any other winners than Kruger and his agent.
And it's probably for the best, because I really don't see Kruger as someone who could easily emulate what he did as a part of that Ravens' front 7 with the personnel the Saints would have to place next to him. But to add a realistic and unheralded potential FA target, like you wanted, I would nominate Knighton from JAX. Knighton is a huge NT who could be had for a vet minimum salary, and he could provide nice depth at the NT position. |
