Getting Ziggy with it
270 pounds fleet footed with a7 foot wingspan. Sounds like a dream at Olb. I am intrigued with his pozsiblity, The Saints are in need of a game changing defender. IMHO I would gamble on greatness. However not having a 2nd rd pick makes this pick riskier than normal. The change to a 34 is going to make rookies starters more likely. Thoughts Opinions? ??

Oh, that Ziggy... Yes, he's been discussed here.
VERY Raw, tends to rely on his bull rush. When that doesn't work, he goes back to it. I like him. I won't be mad if we take him at 15. But realize for every Jason Pierre-Paul, there are more Akili Smiths and Ryan Leafs |

Re: Getting Ziggy with it
I assume we're talking about Ezekiel Ansah? He's not really all that raw. He's new to the game, but doesn't appear to be any less polished than most prospects, and also has a much higher ceiling than most. He's not my first choice, but he might well be the best player available as far as our needs go. I don't want anything to do with most of the other players that have been talked about at 15.
I disagree that he relies on his bull rush. He had 62 tackles, and from what I've seen of him he takes good routes to ball carriers. Meaning he doesn't over run them. Guys who bull rush all day don't get that many tackles. He could refine some of his technique at rushing the passer, but we can say that about just about every player, in any given class. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: Getting Ziggy with it
Haha! Must be. I went back to find the link and the article's already disappeared. I did see where Blockhead Mel Kiper has us picking Sharrif Floyd (Fla) and Ziggy going to Pitt at 17. No offense, but I can't stand Florida. Anyone watch Floyd play?
