As far as I know they the Saints can decide to tender him at any level they want because he was an UDFA, so they could tender him high to force another team to match, but the danger there is that they'd have to honor that higher tender if no other team matched it. I don't know if a (artificially) higher tender would have an affect on the compensatory pick discussion, but with the restructures Loomis has been working on; I think the Saints are going after some FAs, so in the end the Saints probably end up gaining more from the FA pool than they lose to other teams... once again. |
