"Depending on the (Saints') tender offer," Arizona XTRA 910's Mike Jurecki expects the Cardinals to pursue restricted free agent RB Chris Ivory.

If the Saints tender Ivory, it should be at the original-round level. Ivory was an undrafted free agent, so the Cardinals wouldn't have to surrender draft-pick compensation if they signed him to an offer sheet and the Saints chose not to match. Ivory is terribly brittle, but would be a nice addition for a team that badly needs a talent infusion at running back. Related: Cardinals

We heard some of this chatter last year during the season, until our cap issue gets resolved, this could be a likely scenario this tiime.

Can't see him coming back.Good player but far too injury prone.
Could see us drafting Le'Veon Bell depending on what round he goes. His old OC is the new RB coach.

I'd prefer an AFC team, but at least its not an NFCS team.

I we do play his future team, I hope its after week six so we don't have to face him.

I listen at 92.9 The Game out in Atlanta from time to time... Jamie Dukes, Cordell Stewart and the Falcon bunch are also high on Ivory.

If he leaves for the AFC and Cards, I wish him well though.

Re: Cards to pursue Ivory?

I'd hate to see him kamikaze himself into one of our LB'ers and knocking each other out. Ivory is going to get hurt... and if he's on another team, hopefully he won't take one of ours with him.

I love Ivory... but he's a luxury right now. Would love to see some sort of sign and trade even if it's for a 6 or 7th round pick.

I've heard this too, that Atlanta sees Ivory as a replacement for Michael Turner.
It's unfortunate that Ivory hasn't been healthy enough to offer him the money other teams will solicit him with.

Facts are, he's a fantastic back, but was injured most of his career at the Saints.

I heard Atlanta is after Steven Jackson? I don't see the saints sending anyone to Atlanta either.

I really like Ivory but I can't see how we could afford to keep him.
