The whole offensive mind set will have to change we need to start playing a smashmouth style of football. Horn doesn't need to be resigned Haselett will have to go because he will not have any excuses if the saints do not win this year. I wish we would at least make an offer at a big name linebacker and or a cornerback. I know most big name free agents new orleans is proably not at the top of their list of places to go but if the money was there they would come. I know Brooks had a good year last year but where was the production at. People have to get off Venturi and the defense because the offense was not ranked much higher than the defense last year with brooks so called great year. All of the fumbles were such drive killers. We need a good defense to win consitently i hope we have the personell because i know we have the defensive coach to do it. Something has to change with all of the talent on offense we should be a top 5 offense. We do not have the people on defense to rely on them week in and week out.

RICK VENTURI IS THE BEST COACH ON THE SAINTS SIDELINE TRADE HORN, BROOKS, AND JIM HASLETT FOR A PIECE OF CHEESECAKE SINCE ITS AS SOFT AS THEY ARE. PLAY VENTURI ON MADDEN AS HEAD COACH AND SEE HOW MANY SUPER BOWLS YOU WIN. THEN GET HASLETT AND SEE HOW MANY 8-8 YOU HAVE. GIVE VENTURI ATLEAST SOME TYPE OF SECONDARY THIS YEAR AND THEY ARE IN THE TOP 5 DEFENSE IN THE NFL.
NO DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR COULD DO AS GOOD OF JOB AS VENTURI IS DOING WITH THIS DEFENSE.
VENTURI FOR PRESIDENT AND HEAD COACH!!!!!!! HE ATLEAST HAS INTENSITY UNLIKE HASLETT, AND GETS PISSED WHEN AARON BROOKS IS SMILING AFTER A FUMBLE OR INTERCEPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIREHASLETTTRADEBROOKSHORN.COM NEEDS TO BE CREATED QUICKLY AND SO DOES VENTURIHEADCOACH.COM

I kinda agree with godgelsu. Who knows what kind of defensive cooridinator Venturi is with a constant weak secondary. I would say his first year the defense was vanilla, but last year it got better. But the defensive coordinator is the guy who addresses the \"personnel\" issue with his squad. But is Haz and Loomis the final people who choose who they trade for and draft.... who knows, until we get a decent defensive backfield, who knows.

When did Rick\'s family sign up at BnG???

Venturi is a great coach huh? What\'s his record as a head coach by the way? Do you know? I do. He was 2-47-1 in his first 50 games. Yes, that\'s right, in 50 games as head coach in college and the pros he has won TWO games. He took over as coordinator of a defense that set NFL/Team sack records two years in a row and promptly dropped the defense to 23rd in the NFL. Yeah, he\'s an all-star. Can we please get off the Venturi train now? The guy sucks - everyone who has ever seen him coach knows that.

yea that was also a long time ago when your in the league as long as he is you learn a lot of stuff. you probably think that aaron brooks is the best qb in the league. he was the only person other than deuce to show any type of intensity last year. but hey why dont we just keep haslett and go 8-8 for a couple more years until deuce stallwaorth and everybody else retires or leaves. HASLETT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can you be mad at a defensive coordinator that had a quarterback fumble every other series and has below average talent on defense.
Hey atleast Venturi worked with Belichick.
Venturi head coach John Pease defensive coordinator
haslett fire brooks traded horn traded

He also coached all of those years in the middle of season when i coach quit or was fired like when jim mora. Hell it least he doesn\'t run away from the situation that is the problem with saints we do not have enough people with a sac like venturi who doesn\'t run away. Your going to list his record based on the situations he has had to encounter put haslett in his postion and he would be serving beer at the superdome by now.

First of all, I have to say I have been reading these forums for quite sometime and I really enjoying reading these threads. However, this thread has blown me away and was the reason i decided to register.

VENTURI FOR PRESIDENT AND HEAD COACH!!!!!!!
Are you serious?! What has Venturi done for this organazation that remotely justifies this? Seriously, look at his God like resume and career win/loss total. Our D has been sub par since he took over, period. He has had ample time to right the ship.

HE ATLEAST HAS INTENSITY UNLIKE HASLETT
Now I\'m not a Haz OR BUT in his defense, Haslett is an emotional coach and there is no denying that. How have you not seen him fume on the sidelines. Emotional does not mean a good coach and that is not what I am implying. But what you said is just wrong.

SIDELINE TRADE HORN, BROOKS,
Wow brilliant suggestion. Surely, you should be the GM. Er wait you tried this scenario in Madden and Venturi was your coach and you were great. Well man this isn\'t Madden bud, this is the NFL. Brooks posted good numbers (24TD/8INT) and IMHO has won more games for us then he has lost. Yes, it is true he does need to be more consistent for the Saints to go to the playoffs and beyond and I honestly believe he will. As for Horn, he has averaged 1200+ yards per year since joining the saints. Last year he was injured and had an \"off year\" while still posting decent numbers. He is a competitor.

I am looking forward to more posts and can\'t wait for the \'Hawks game. GEAUX SAINTS!!!!

dodgelsu - Do you think Venturi has all the answers but is just not telling Haslett?
The D has stunk it up the last few years, I think we can agree on that point.
Now are you saying the only reason is that Venturi did not have the talent?
What a load! He is no better if not worse than Haslett - Get you head out of Venturi\'s rear and you will be able to see the truth. The truth will set you free.
