Yeah when you lose glover and joe johnson the last two pro bowlers we had on defense so yes the defensive would struggle a little his first year. Yeah he just real bad he has only been in the league for about 30 years. Thats bad when that is the only excuse most people can come up with. More people should look at the quarterback not his 24 td to 8 int but how he isn't a leader.

It takes more than one player to be a team... Hell look at the Ravens... you can\'t tell me there QB is the leader of that team \'nope\' Ray Lewis is. You don\'t have to put that load on brooks all he has to do is his job and expect others to do there job. Brooks has improved year in and year out and put up pro bowl numbers. So hmmm, it must not be brooks when our D just simply stunk. The reasons Joe and glover are gone is because they didn\'t stay in shape, they couldn\'t finish a season much less a damn game, they got winded just going onto the freakin field. You also have to have good play calling and put the key players in position to make plays... Venturi used freakin HIGH SCHOOL tactics and plans out there... LB\'s DON\"T SIT 5 YARDS INTO THE END ZONE on red zone Defense when its first and gold at the 4. Oh wait maybe he was being a visionairy... yeah right.

Yeah look at the Ravens defense wow are defense is so similar in personel. We would not have to run so many zones if we had close to the same talent at linebacker and corner. You proved my point put more money into some linebackers and corner. So u want to have a defense like the ravens it wouldn\'t hurt to have some first round talent starting at linebacker or corner. I am sure it is all venturi\'s fault hell who could not make Hodge, watson, allen play just like boulware, lewis and suggs anybody else but venturi i am sure could make it happen.

See you can\'t even see your faults to your arguments which is you put the blame solely on Brooks, when it takes a team. Getting rid of brooks is not the answer but building a D is, building a team period is the answer and getting rid of a player because they \"aren\'t a leader\" is not.

Brooks gets dumped on a daily basis. You have the most prolific QB in Saints history and folks are calling for him to be traded on a daily basis. How much more blame than that do you need?

One cannot be a leader in pro football without production. It\'s a necessary condition.

OK let\'s flip the question. We get rid of Brooks. Now what? Who do you replace him with? Bouman? O\'Sullivan?
Bulger? Even Delhomme? Please!

This quiz will be graded!

brooks is a cancer and what we could do is trade him for a solid draft pick also horn maybe we could trade for a decent corner or lb.
We need a leader at qb and also everybody body talks about stats all i ever see brooks is little dump off passes for about 2-3 yard gain. Anybody can do little dump off passes since he is too gutless to try to make a play and doesn\'t want to throw downfield because it would make his stats look worse thats why the team needs a leader at qb
who cares about winning and doesn\'t laugh when he messes up.

brooks is a cancer
The basis of this is what? Show me one article where Brooks has exhibited any type of behavior detimental to the team or where teammates have called him out as the problem. Just one. Link please. Let\'s keep it in the last 2 calendar years.

You didn\'t answer the question. Who do you replace him with?

Find me a QB in this league that the Saints can afford that has had the following average production over the last three years:

3500+ yards

25 TDs

3/1 TD/INT ratio in any of these three years

Improved INT and QB rating in each of the last three years.

I have time today as we didn\'t have power for about 12 hours. I\'ll wait...

We need a leader at qb and also everybody body talks about stats all i ever see brooks is little dump off passes for about 2-3 yard gain.
6.85 yards per attempt. That\'s not completions. Attempts. So it\'s not possible for each and every pass to be the 2-3 yard dump.

BTW that dump is leadership. It shows an improved understanding of the game to take what the defense gives you instead of trying to force the ball downfield into coverage. And dumping off to Deuce (or Stecker this year) and getting the back out in open space isn\'t a bad play at all.

Anybody can do little dump off passes since he is too gutless to try to make a play and doesn\'t want to throw downfield because it would make his stats look worse thats why the team needs a leader at qb
Perception I guess. I never found it gutless, but smart. Get something on the play, keep the ball, and give your offense another chance to make progress.

Brooks also makes the big play too. Think about the throw to Stallworth in the 1st quarter of the Falcon game in Atlanta for a 70+ yard TD. It certainly wasn\'t a dump.

who cares about winning and doesn\'t laugh when he messes up.
Caring about winning is actually part of his problem. Like all egotistical superstars he thinks he\'s the best option even when less than 100 percent. Use the December collapse of 2002 as an example.

Deuce has the same problem. He always wants to play when in fact he needs to pace himself during the season so that he\'s ready when the final push comes.

Both need to prep for the final six games of the regular season and the playoffs. Because even if we are 7-2 or 8-1 after 9 games this year, it pretty much means nothing because we have 5 division games in our last 6.

So AFAICT it comes down to two things about Brooks:

1) He laughs things off.

2) He fumbled the ball a lot last year. Actually he lost a lof of fumbles last year, because his total fumbles (14) was consistent with the two years before that (11 and 13). The number lost changed radically (from 2 and 5 to 11)

So if he loses only 4 balls this year and doesn\'t laugh, then can he stay?

Cancer? I really don\'t understand man. Somebody please explain it to me.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

That December collaspe of 2002 he kept playing because if Jake would have played the rest of those games Brooks would not even be our quarterback right now. I at least will give him credit for being smart enough to see that.

Are you guys deliberately avoiding my question? Who do you replace Brooks with when you trade him for that coveted LB or CB that you Venturi brothers keep asking for?

You say he has no leadership. You say anyone can dump the ball off. You say he\'s a cancer. Yet no one has given a credible replacement with any type of justification.

I\'m still waiting.

Don\'t come stir the pot then walk away when someone ask you to take a taste.
