Dont get me wrong i like Chase Daniel but the guy is 26 years old right now... if we get at least 4 more years out of Drew do you really want the next QB in line to step in already being 30????/

I see the Saints doing just as the Packers did and maybe in a few years drafting a QB in the first round and letting him learn under Drew for a few seasons then when Drew is ready to ride off into the sunset we will have our next QB ready to step in at maybe 24-25 years old

Aaron Rodgers was 100% the exception to the rule.

I can't think of a single QB in todays NFL that sat for 4 years before taking over and becoming great.

Rodgers sat because Brett Favre kept waffling on retirement. He was ready to go year 2.

Ha and also Steve Young is a apart of the very group of QB's stepping under center well into their career and going on to have illustrious careers.

So then unless Chase Daniel is also an exception to the rule we most likely will draft a QB towards the tail end of Drew's career.... which i dont believe he is

So two examples over the last 25 years?

And Young started his career with the USFL at age 25, then went to a gawd-awful Tampa team for two seasons, before being forced to sit behind a HOF'er for a couple seasons when he was likely ready much sooner. Not a real good example.

Again. we don't need to worry about Drew's replacement for another 4 or 5 years.

Steve Young had alot of Joe Montana developed weapons when he took over too.
Chase Daniel could have the same...
I don't even know why this is a topic when its 4+ years away.

Thank you Danno, as i said i dont see Chase Daniels as taking over the reigns and being the starter once Drew Brees is ready to hang it up

And short term memory is good so long as you still keep at least a slight eye on the future
