Tweet from Chase Daniel...
Chase Daniel@ChaseDaniel
Such a weird, eerie feeling not knowing where you’re gonna be playing ball at for the next 3 or so years…#March 12th, 4pm! |
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
Later.

Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
He was playing football? My bad....thought he held a clipboard!
|
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
He'll be back.
|
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
You tweet about Saints business - then you're a twit.
...and there are not going to be any twits on the Saints roster |
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
LOL
|
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
Whatever backup.
|
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
Can't blame the guy.
|
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
If Drew got injured, damn straight I would support him.
|
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
If Drew got injured we'd better make a trade, call Favre or hell Vinnie Testaverde is still out there somwhere.
|
Don't fear,Vincent Young is out there somewhere
|
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
...and Jamarcus Russell - I heard he still has a lot of upside. ;-)

Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
Whats he due to make this year? That may be the deciding factor in this with our cap issues.
I don't think we need Drew's replacement but we do need a capable back up if needed for a few games. |
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
He'll be back, and he should.
Twitter, the easiest way to make a mountain out of a mole hill. |

He isn't due anything since he's an UFA, and that's where his apparent frustration stems from - still Twitter is the wrong place to vent oneself. He was making $1M last year as a RFA, but I doubt he'd be willing to settle for that "little" this time around, and I doubt the Saints are willing/able pay much more than that to keep him around. |
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
I think his tweet was more like, he's frustrated that the Saints haven't given him a deal YET. Like, "hurry up guys, I'm waiting."
Last year, Chase was practically the very first guy signed, in fact I think he was THE first non-practice squad or bottom feeder guy that got a deal done last year -- they signed him first, early on, for a million, as "insurance" in case all hell broke loose on the Brees deal. Which was an incredibly smart thing for Loomis to do. This year other people come first, and he is one of those guys who is going to wait and come down to the wire. There might be some free agents or other QBs who pop loose, that the Saints will want to take a look at. He also has been very good about taking one-year contracts, and may be getting tired of that. Wanting a longer deal. This could just be a ploy to get Loomis to take Chase's agent's calls. But I think they are waiting to do Chase's deal, because they want to get him at the last minute, and lowball him, "take it or leave it son." With not much time to leave. |
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
If the Saints were considering resigning him they should offer LESS because of the Twitter comment....
" We don't do that Chase... we're not the J-E-T-S! " |
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
No one knows if he's worth the money except the coaches and maybe Drew. Drews' motto is never let your backup see the field. When he does get on the field all he does is hand off the ball.

Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
Oh! Extraordinary to plaster a business comment on Twitter.
|
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
Damn, I don't know what tweet y'all read but I don't think he was saying anything incendiary at all. It must be weird knowing that your future is up in the air and you don't know where you'll be living next week. I fail to see how he was saying anything crazy.
|
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
I think that he was tweeting an innocuous thought. Isn't that what twitter is for?
He's a young dude and this is the way they express themselves these days. It wasn't malicious, it was an honest comment. It's not as if he was trying to exert leverage on the organization. He has none. Who hasn't wondered aloud about their future at some point? |

Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
One sleeper free-agent QB to watch - who will draw interest - is New Orleans' Chase Daniel. In right spot, could challenge for starting job. |
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
I like Chase and I got no prob with his comment. I hope he gets re-signed.

Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...

IMO, he's not complaining or calling the Saints out. |
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
Imagine! Using "Social Media" to express one's opinion on something!

I agree 100%. Perfectly harmless tweet that typically gets way over-reacted to. |
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
He'll have a chance to be a scrub somewhere else.

The day Brady, Brees, Rogers start negotiating their contracts on trotter is the day before Chase should. What's he have, 4 followers? |
Re: Tweet from Chase Daniel...
I'd trust Chase Daniel more than any other QB if anything happened to Brees, mostly because our O is massively complicated and Chase has been in this offense for the past 4 years, only people that know it better than him are Sean Payton and brees

Soldiers with family's do it for $36k a year.... (Before taxes) I don't feel for Chase, he knew that going in, it's the nature of the beast. I wish my biggest problem was where is my next Mil coming from? It's not that he said anything incendiary, or that he uses Twitter, it's going public about a business issue, very unprofessional...... That was more of a cry for attention. "Poor me". |

I wish I was paid a million to have sideline seats to every Saints' game and to hold Brees' baseball cap for him during offensive turns. |

Because of his play at Missouri I'm guessing and the fact his successor there is stinking it up in the NFL. But Missouri fell off after Daniel. |
