Sounds good to me. He can back up Bunkley.

I do get where you're coming from, but I'd personally like to see them turn the page on the failed project called Ellis.

Stopped reading this non-sense right there.

They have no earthly idea of what a draft bust is.

I think he meant someone who was picked in the top 10 and was a bust, not that he is one of the top ten busts ever. He is a bust. A player who is picked in the top 10 and is just average is a bust. A top ten pick should be at least a slightly above average player.

But then again, one can always wonder if it's really the players fault he never lived up to his draft pick number or if it's the scouting department's fault that the player was picked where he was..?

I could not disgree more.

A bust is a pick that simply cannot play in the NFL.

Good grief, there are literally 100's of 1st rounders over the last decade that were more of a bust than Sedric Ellis.

I'm disappointed that anyone would consider Ellis a bust. I think either they don't know what a bust is or don't know much about football.

I can agree with anyone that says he didn't quite live up to his draft position, but claiming he's a bust is just silly.

Out of interest, say he agreed to a fair contract or even a one year deal.
Does anyone think a 3-4 would suit Ellis?

Better than the 4-3? I'd say no, since he is undersized and doesn't have the upper body strength to compensate for that weakness.

Ellis is the smallest DT and/or DE the Saints have on their roster, and he is an inch shorter than Bunkley who some seem to think is too small to be an effective NT in the 3-4 (despite the proof of the opposite).

He is undoubtedly best suited to be a 4-3 DT in my opinion, but that isn't really saying much.

Yeah... for sure he did not live up to the press clippings... but if he takes the league min, he might provide depth.
