You're exactly right, we need youth and stamina for four quarters, plus... And he's a one trick pony defensive end which is slightly better than Will Smith who just kinda stretches and lays there... |
Re: John Abraham may visit Saints
Wow, couldn't be a guy I was less interested in. He is done when it comes to the game and he's probably one of the most incoherent individuals I've ever heard.

Re: John Abraham may visit Saints
If he's lost a step, yet still recorded 10 sacks like he did last year, I say give him a nice little 2 year deal. l guess nobody remembers him being the only player terrorizing Brees on the Falcons D the past several years.

He's 35 and battled injuries practically all season long this past year - and you want to give him a 2-year contract?! |

Sharper and Brees aren't exactly good comparisons for Abrahams - an old player who got released in the middle of his contract. Minnesota wanted to keep Sharper, but couldn't afford to. He was putting up good numbers for them through his contract, and would've probably continued to do so if he had re-signed with them. Brees' situation with the Chargers is known by all of us, so there's no need to go over it again here, but I'd like to point out that he didn't have a history filled with injuries before the infamous shoulder injury, the surgery was done by the best in the business, and he passed the medicals before signing with the Saints. From what I've gathered, Abrahams doesn't have the same type of character as Brees does when it comes to training and keeping himself in peak condition to avoid future injuries, so them being about the same age isn't really anything I'd consider as a favorable comparison to Abrahams. Anyway, he might be a good veteran presence at vet minimum (I'm doubtful), but I'd prefer that roster spot to be filled by a young player who could be a future contributor in the black and gold. |
