There's definitely a shuffle going on. Glad to see the Saints are on top of it as opposed to the old-old days when we were always way behind.

The restructured deals supposedly being offered to Smith, Vilma and Harper would bring us to 10 mil under the cap...

Herring never panned out and it was obvious he wasn't worth the money. Now, go cut Smith, Harper and Vilma. Then you'll have some money to spend.

Saints save $1.5 million against the cap as LB Will Herring is released

Herring was a good special teamer, and unfortunately his career with the Saints began pretty badly with him spending most of his first season on the IR, but in the end $1.6M was too much to pay for a ST player.

I think he'll sign with another team quite quickly.
