Devery doesnt know what happened either and I did'nt think Garnder did that much better:
FFMasterMind.com Team QuickBits Last Updated: Tue Sep 7, 2004, 6:15 PM PDT The New Orleans Saints' official website reports Saints HC Jim Haslett was asked about who the fourth receiver would be behind WR Joe Horn, WR Donte' Stallworth and WR Jerome Pathon. "Our fourth receiver will be based on who's active," he said. "If we carry five receivers, then WR Talman Gardner will be our fourth and WR Michael Lewis will be our fifth, and if we carry four receivers, then Lewis will be our fourth. WR Devery Henderson is obviously not ready yet, I think holding out those ten days really put him behind - he's still learning the formations and the shifts, he's had four penalties in the last three games lining up. But, I think he'll be a heck of a player once he gets a grasp of the offense. But he'll be inactive for the first few games." |

Haslett is just trying to give the rookie time to learn. It\'s not that Gardner is a better receiver. It\'s the fact that Devery doesn\'t know the system but Gardner does.

These kind of things happen when you hold out over 15,000 $.
If he can\'t line up right, I wouldn\'t trust him to know his routes, which could easily lead to turnovers. Right decision. |

Maybe Gardner deserves it right now. He\'s improved quite a bit. We are talking about a spot that may see 3 or 4 whole plays in a game. He is a pretty solid special teams player also.
I see Henderson contributing about week 4 or 5. |

Glad to see you\'re stroking yourself to calm down BnB!
Gardner is in his second? third? year as a former all-acc player from FSU if memory serves. Henderson is a rookie who held out. Why does this surprise anyone? |

hey bNb horn\'s good years are over he\'s getting old and could be traded for some good young talent or draft picks.
DO you forget he is the one who dropped the ball in the endzone that could have sent us into the playoffs. |
