No what I said was thats where he's projected now but will move to backup de. I also said that resign ellis and that they would get someone else along the way. ellis would only be a backup and a cheap one at that because he's got no takers right now. Heavy rotation at NT.

Why don't you wait until right before the regular season starts before you compile this list; When we know exactly who the players are going to be. It might have a little more validity, then.

No need for Ellis as he is the farthest thing from a 3-4 NT and would be useless as a DE in that defense. He's not even a decent 4-3 insider.

Will Smith will be a decent DE even in a 3-4. He is smart and experienced enough not to be a weak link there. He won't excel though.

I think Vilma will spell in the RILB role and Wilson and Gallette will be guaranteed OLB's. Would love to see Victor Butler in the mix.

If we can land Nnamdi and Butler our back 8 are in very respectable shape.

Hey Rezburna here the first link projecting Smith at OLB. I'm looking for more. Why wait to post something that I know everyone will just trash anyway. You guys really need to look at the positive sometimes and not always negatively about everything.

sorry about the name calling. I lost one of my chickens yesterday and her name was jiggles for obvious reasons. I ran out of my medication and coupled with that disaster my brain was misfiring on all cylinders. I will get the the 2014-2019 later today, but my question is really can't we do predictions anymore or was it just the title everyone had a problem with?

Trade a RB or a DB if we sign Nnamdi for a LT and then use that pick for a NT or DE

Whenever the Saints official website list him as a LB let me know. Because the thing is...the official Saints website has him listed as a DE, but they have accounted for Gallette's change to LB, as well as Matez Wilson's return to the position...so maybe you should double check your facts with something legitimate before you cop an attitude.

Cheramie is just trying to contribute! If you disagree with him that's fine. We all do that from time to time, but let's remember no one gets it right every time. It's not like he's some one that always is off base. He is spot on more often than not.
And it may be early but that doesn't mean we can't look at all options.

I can't believe there are people in the media projecting Will Smith as an outside linebacker, even as a backup.

I actually thought when the Saints Drafted him, that he would be moved to linebacker, even with us running a 4-3. He seemed thin for a DE, but he was pretty fast and athletic. It took him about a year, but he got stronger and become a solid DE, of course. Right now though, at his age, and the amount of weight he's put on over the last few years, I think he would be horrible at outside linebacker.

I didn't really care to see him return this season, at all, but he's going to have to play end in my opinion.

still have 3.3 and that's before harper restructure. I'm sure well cut someone expensive to sign another one or 2 before the draft then we can take best available in the draft. don't be surprised if we don't land albert at LT and Nnamdi before the draft.

Have to factor in the Butler signing as-well, not sure the terms though

Before you get ahead of your self and start cutting expensive players you may want to take a look at dead money for those players... We have no more "expensive" players that do not have dead money associated with them.

You have to have roughly 3M available before you enter the draft. So right now you have nothing to spend with the signing of Butler.
