New York Jets offense to become like New Orleans Saints? Rex Ryan isn't kidding himself
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
********************************************************* Phoenix -- Through all of the Darrelle Revis potential trade madness that's been surrounding the New York Jets the last couple of weeks, Jets Coach Rex Ryan understands improving the offense is undoubtedly one of his top priorities in what could be a make-or-break season for him. His expectations, though, are realistic. Ryan was asked during Tuesday morning's coaches breakfast with the media at the NFL owners meetings at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel if his unstable offense can become a prolific unit like the New Orleans Saints. Ryan essentially laughed off the theory saying there's no reason to compare the two offenses, nor does he feel like the Jets will all of a sudden become like the Saints' offense in 2013. "There's no way we'll match that," Ryan said. "We can safely say we're not matching that. But that kind of mentality where it's hey, we're going to attack you and do what we do. What I do love about the Saints is how they mix that run and that pass in. They're not just one-dimensional. "I think at the beginning of last year, that team was really one-dimensional, and then they started running the ball more. When you can do both things - run the football and throw it effectively - that's something that obviously you would like to do as a coach. Certainly we would love to shoot for those kind of (numbers and be) that kind of team. I just don't know how realistic that is." Speaking of the Saints' offense, Ryan said one of the main reasons his brother Rob is thrilled he's the new defensive coordinator in New Orleans is because of the offensive firepower, as Rex jokingly deemed Brees as "just a decent player." "I tell you what, with that offense and him on defense, I was telling him and kidding with him but it's really the truth: if you get two turnovers a game, you're going to win every game," Rex Ryan said. "Except ours (the Saints play the Jets in 2013). But anyway, he'll do a great job there. He'll bring in that enthusiasm and that passion for the game. I think he'll do a good job. "I thought he was doing a good job last year until they lost six starters. I think that kind of put a little damper on him in Dallas. But obviously he's got a great reputation and it's deserved. But having him and Sean there, and I know Rob is really excited about some of the coaches. Obviously, you have Joe Vitt, who he'll lean on a great deal on defense. I think he really feels good about that." New York Jets offense to become like New Orleans Saints? Rex Ryan isn't kidding himself | NOLA.com |

Yep, they've got Sanchez, Tebow and the inside scoop from brother Ryan. How can they lose?

I heard the jets were moving to the SEC where they'll be the 5th best team.
I can't for the life of me remember where I heard that |

First problem is the "New York" Jets can never be an unselfish offense like the "New Orleans" Saints, it's just not possible even if they had the talent (which they don't).
