Well I must say about the Seahawks game i'm pretty pessimist

my reasons are as follows:

1) The saints year in and year out show there inability too stop the run. \"quote the joke in ohio from my freinds that rag on me for being a saints fan is they run right bayou\".
That has been the case in the past. However the Dome Patrol of the early 90\'s could stop the run. Pease was the coach of the D-Line for that group. Pease was the coach of the D-line of the Jaguars who went from the bottom of the league in rush defense to #2 last year. Pease is now the coach of our D-Line. I\'ll bet that the run defense will improve due to better gap control by the D-line and the addition of Watson who seems to be in the right position to make the play most of the time.

2) The saints have not beat the seahawks since 91 we played them in 2000, 2003, and now. They may of played them in 97 i\'ll get back too you on that.
Irrelevant. Even the fact that we played them last year really doesn\'t matter. These two teams are closely matched. History will probably not play a part in it.

3.) saints secondary is slow can bat dow passes and cover well but speed kills.
True. The secondary is going to have to play somewhat conservatively, tackle well, tackle well and tackle well. They are not an all star group. But everyone, except for probably Ambrose, are serviceable. Their jobs is to not give up the long ball, and cover well enough for the D-Line to unleash hell upon Hasselbeck.

I admit that our defense isn\'t going to dominate anyone, at least not in the early going. If they can only do the job of getting off the field without giving up too many points (say 13-15 per game) then the team will be competitive.

I think that all three safeties will ensure that the ball stays out front and not give up the big play. Jones is lighter and quicker this year. I just fervently hope that he can have the discipline to tackle instead of trying to blow up receivers.

keys too winning the Seahawks game

1) constant pressure on qb
Definitely key #1. Make Hasselbeck uncomfortable in the pocket.

2) stopping the run
Definitely #2. Statistically the passing defense is the Saints\' strength. Billy has posted over and over that the #9 pass defense ranking from last year wasn\'t a fluke. But teams didn\'t really feel compelled to test that aspect because the run defense was really poor (140+ YPG and huge runs given up to Dunn and Davis for example). As crazy as it sounds we really want to force teams to pass the ball this year.
3) managing too get a lead early we cannot get behind bye 14 points in this one or it is over yes brooks has awesome come from behind ratios but still.
It\'s not over but it\'s tougher becase then Seattle will ram Alexander down our defense\'s throats. By getting ahead you orce then into a passing game. On the other hand I think that Brooks and our receiving crew can make up 14 points pretty quickly if necessary.
4) give them a heavy dose of duece and if we have the lead make the clock tick and cause seattle too use all there timeouts bye making the clock tick.
Except if they get to 8 or 8.5 in the box to stop Deuce, then you play action and make them pay with points.

5) brooks must not back peddle 15 yards than try too scrample he must have poise in the pocket if nothing is there throw it too the back coming out of the backfeild or one of his check downs such as maybe a tight end across the middle. Or throw it away or run with it if you see a lane don\'t get too far out of the pocket. No forcing throws if nothing is there duece is great coming out of the backfeild.

I feel you there. Brooks still has the mindset that if he can establish a secondary pocket by scrambling that he can pull off the big play. I\'m with you in rather having Deuce out in the flat with a LB than Brooks trying to be a hero.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.
