Brooks get’s one pass from me, and that was this game. I can tell his timing was shot. We should get a better outing when we play the 49ers (Falcons barely beat them – I may need to rethink that last statement). But I have a thought I would like to share. … Some may agree and some may not. Duece should not be the primary focus in our offense. We have all this SPEED at receiver and that should be our focus moving the ball through the air giving him his lanes, running room and most of all taking bodies out the box. McCarthy needs to call a better game plan. Any thoughts?

I just think our players do not execute their plays. And that\'s not just the offesnsive coordinator\'s fault, it\'s the climate of the team which is controlled by the head coack and the coaching staff in general. We are loaded with talent, but our players are treated like premadonas. I look at Tuna or Mike Tice in MInn, they don\'t put up with any crap or crap talk. Remember Mike Tice shut that little punk Randy Moss up and made him into a fine receiver, don\'t think he just asked him.

I think our problems run deep and to the top, look to the head coach or the coaching staff in general.

Frankly, I don\'t want to slap Haz and McCarthy in the face for this miserable game.

I want to slap Tom Benson for keeping these clowns and not firing them in the offseason.

I agree with everyone, but some people need to be benched this week or fired period. That was the most disappointing opening day Saint\'s game I have every listened too, with all the expectation this year. The Saint\'s always have been the best at finding a new way to lose, killing talent or hanging onto coaches too long.

I love the people on this board.. They see what I see. That the problem is with the coaches and it stems from Tom Benson. As long as he is selling the dome out he DOES NOT CARE if the saints when or lose. He is a greedy MOFO. I think the best thing that could have happened is for the dome not to sellout. I hope it continues that way then Benson may make a change.

Sucks though that I can\'t see it on tv..

I posted on here back in early( August when I attended training camp)that from what I was seeing, the defense was looking better.I also said that the offense just may be what holds us down this year. They were looking flat and our defense picked off two passes during that practice. The O-line looked out of sync.

Now fast forward to the game against Seattle(which I attended)the same appears to be true.In the first half the defense pretty much held their own,but the offense sucked. The offense consistently put our defense in bad situations, but they kept fighting hard to keep the game within reach. No matter how hard they fought though, our offense finally beat them to death.

If this Saints offense is ever going to be anywhere near decent, they are going to have to get back to using the I formation and using the run to set up the pass.In order to use the one back set,the O-line has got to be in sync and the tightend has got to be able to block(neither of which is happening with the Saints).Aaron Brooks has got to get better at reading defenses(what\'s new?).Boo Williams has got to get better at catching the damn ball(what happened?).Pathon also dropped a sure touchdown(can\'t have that!).The coaching staff decides to put Karney in inside the redzone and throw to him out of the backfield(the result is 1st and goal),then they take him out and don\'t use him for three series(what kind of crap is that?).

I think this coaching staff is very stubborn and don\'t like to admit when they have made a mistake.IMO the single back set is a big mistake. The O-line can\'t block well enough to make it sucessful.Haslett gets on the post game wrap up show and says that the running game was fine.He said that Seattle was just a good football team.As long as we keep using this set everyone we play will be just a good football team.Admit your mistakes and make the proper adjustments to the offense !

See yall at the dome on sunday !

I THINK ONE OF OUR BIGGEST PROBLEMS IS THAT SOME OF OUR SKILL POSITOIN PLAYERS ARE READING TOO MUCH OF THE SCOUTING REPORTS! HOW ELSE COULD YOU EXPLAIN THE CONSTANT LACSIDASICAL PLAY?THE PASSES DON\'T JUST COME OUT PERFECT,THE BALL DOESN\'T JUST STICK TO YOUR HANDS ON TOUCH,PEOPLE DON\'T GET TACKLED JUST BESAUSE YOU TOUCH THEM!!! OUR TEAM IS PLAYING TOUCH FOOTBALL IN THE NFL!! THE COACHES( IF THEY REALLY) BELIEVE THEY HAVE TALENT---BETTER FIND A WAY TO GET THAT TALENT TO RISE TO THE TOP! YOU DON\'T JUST WIN BY PUTTING YOUR TEAM ROSTERS ON THE FIELD AND THE BEST LOOKING ONE ON PAPER WINS!!!!! WE HAVE TOO MANY OVERCONFIDENT PLAYERS WHO DON\'T SHOW UP ON SUNDAY\'S AND I THINK IT\'S UP TO THE COACHES TO MAKE EM\' PLAY OR BENCH THEIR A**** UNTIL THEY DO COME TO PLAY!!!!! EVERY GAME IS IMPORTANT,AND I DON\'T THEY GET THAT :exclam: :exclam:

I agree. There\'s more than a couple of problems with the two TE set. For one, the Saints offense seems to put one TE in motion, placing him in the backfield in a basic strong \"I\" formation (fullback shaded to the strong or TE side). When they do this with Boo it\'s useless because he can\'t block. So the defense knows he\'s gonna be a receiver. Rather than starting his pattern on the line of scrimmage, he\'s now three yards behind it.

The Titans used this formation with Frank Wychek in motion it worked fine. But their offensive line was better than ours and Wychek could block. The old Washington Redskins used it because they had John Riggins and the Hogs. Detroit used it with Barry Sanders but he was ten yards behind the line of scrimmage and he had great lateral movement. Keep in mind though that he also consistently led the league in yards lost. Deuce isn\'t Barry. He\'s Duece and his strong suit is hitting the hole behind a fullback and deciding while hitting it where he needs to go, not sidestepping in the backfield looking for a hole that\'s open for a millisecond and closed the minute he gets to it.

The Saints said the point of going two TE was to get Boo into the game and creat mismatches for him. Yesterday he was a non-issue unless you count his fumble. The Saints have the personnel to actually run an offense similar to what the Rams had a few years ago: lightning speed at WR, a quality RB, a TE that can block and catch, a QB that can throw long (although Brooks does have trouble throwing touch passes and reading defenses) and a fullback that apparently can run, block and catch. All they need is an offensive coordinator and a head coach that will put it in place.

BTW, I think one of Mike McCarthy\'s biggest problems is his inability to realize he doesn\'t have Brett Favre under center. Brooks is different QB and McCarthy would do well to put an offense in there that uses his strengths, not exposes his weaknesses. TRANSLATION: Stop trying to run screens and stop expecting Brooks to throw touch passes. If he can\'t do it by now, he never will and trying it simply wastes downs.

What we have to do is what the Colts are doing... rotate offensive packages in and when you have a mis-match you exploit it. You go into a hurry up Offense and you burn them over and over. Brooks should call the plays from the line. If they pick up our WR\'s and no glaring mis-match you pop Deuce up the middle.

You can bring out an I formation with FBs... heave package. break the huddle and send in 4-5 WR sets to the line and heavy package runs off the field.

Patriots always changing game plans and CREATE mis-matches. Colts didn\'t expect a hurry up offense from the Pats to start the game!
