Some recent NFL coaches in successful systems
Dick Vermeil @ KC 6-10, 8-8, 13-3 John Fox 7-9 (after a 1-15 season), 11-5 SB Jimmy Johnson @ Dal 1-15, 7-9, 11-5, 13-3 SB, 12-4 SB Shanahan 8-8, 13-3, 12-4 SB, 14-2 SB Holmgren @ GB 9-7, 9-7, 9-7, 11-5, 13-3 SB, 13-3 SB Dungy @ TB @ Indy 10-6 (year before 6-10), 12-4 Mike Tice 5-11, 6-10, 9-7, How good do they look to be this year? Bill Bellicheck 5-11, 11-5 SB, 9-7, 14-2 SB Andy Reid 5-11, 11-5, 11-5, 12-4, 12-4 What do you notice? For the most part - consistent improvement from year to year. Yeah, sure, I know there are exceptions.. BUT, if you're playing the numbers game, MOST superbowl teams come from new coaches within their first two, three, maybe four years. And you see clear improvement year to year. I've said this before and been grilled for it on this board, BUT I still think that if Haslett hasn't done it yet, he never will. We need a new coach. I don't care what happens this season - Haslett has outstayed his welcome in NO as far as I'm concerned. |

I agree with the both of you, bit I think we should start putting feelers out now for a new coaching staff, because if yesterday is really our team, I am changing my prediction from 11-5 to 5-11. That just sucked the life out of me, worst then my wife.

I always gave haz the benifit of the doubt and alwasy criticized McCarthy because i think he is horrible.
I thought one day haz would step in and tighten him up but its not happening. Where is the discipline on offense. We need someone to step in and make these players professionals. How can you give them all this money and they can\'t even line up correctly. What are you doing in practice. ARRRGGGHHHHH |

Hoping will not help, divine intervention may!
Much like golf, we have 15 more games. The first game/hole does not define the final results. Albeit, if the first is an indication of things to come, Saints fans will be calling for Haz head. I am reminder of a ole\' professional, Jerry Barber, who triple bogeyed the first hole only to comment; \"that is why we have 17 more holes to play!. |

Good analogy. We snap-hooked the first drive OB. And it was also the #3 handicap hole, and there are a lot more easy holes to play.
