There's a lot of great athletes in the world, but that doesn't mean he can beat inferior talent that actually know how to play. If he doesn't love the game and just said okie dokie at being a DE I think there's no reason to waste the time.

Depends what position he is intended for. The lad played rugby (union) and had offers from the top league rugby (union) clubs in England

LOL. Not every guy with size and speed can play in the NFL. The Saints don't need projects, they need impact.
