Ken Dorsey completed 9-of-15 passes for 111 yards against Atlanta.

The word on Tim Rattay’s shoulder became official Monday after Dennis Erickson announced an MRI exam revealed that his starting quarterback has a 2nd degree separation.

There remains a small chance that Rattay could play Sunday against the Saints, depending upon the progress of the injury. He played the entire fourth quarter against Atlanta with the injury after receiving a pain-numbing injection. He finished the game completing 18-of-31 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns.

“It’s day-to-day really we’ll see how it feels, how it goes,� Rattay said. “Hopefully I can practice at the end of this week and then shoot it up for Sunday.�

“Right now Ken will be the starter (against New Orleans),� Erickson said during his Monday press conference. “Hopefully Tim will be able to back him up.�
