PFW Reports

New Orleans

The Saints have been downplaying the neck injury suffered by DE Darren Howard in the preseason, but the way we hear it, there was real concern that Howard could be in trouble before the problem started to show signs of healing late last week. Howard underwent an MRI on his neck and was diagnosed with a bulging disc, but head coach Jim Haslett said that the injury wasn’t all that serious. We’re told, however, that the Saints were privately worried that Howard wouldn’t have much of a chance to rehab the injury without missing extended time. Considering that Howard basically head-butts an opponent on every snap, there also is a possibility of the disc flaring up again during the season.

Ummm... I know! I know!

You\'ve heard it before in EVERY injury report submitted by EVERY coach.

Oh, wait...you think Haz is the only one.

It\'s those blinders 08...and possibly your agenda.

Look into my eyes 08...see the WHOLE picture...

You can do it. I KNOW you can. It\'s your agenda that limits you.

I think Haz and all of the players and the entire organization for that matter need to wake up real quick, they need to start being honest with everyone, about everything, because this is going to end very badly for alot of people and not just Haz and his coaching staff.

Uh, hang on, I\'m CALLING BULL SH!T here! No Saintfan, not every coach downplays injuries with the same CONSISTENCY and EXTEMITY to which Haslett does. No way. Haslett has to be one of the 5 most understating coaches in the league when it comes to injuries.
