Re: 2013 LIVE DRAFT THREAD
At the close of business yesterday (we had had a great day) went to close my CC transactions and Comcast Business Television, Telephone and Internet (Use for CC Trans) went down in my town...
Have been looking forward to the draft since KC beat us in the Dome... I had dropped Bellsouth/ATT after four years of doing "maintenance" on the weekends I always had my FFBall Drafts so I was really freaked out... As a former football and baseball player, I have my superstitions and omens and I was already in a WTH mode... Hagan, got me going a few years ago with the scouting and I had an absolute crush on Clay Matthews and I hate Big Overrated Ten Football so I was lost when we drafted Ohio State and his BowTie Action over Southern California Clay Matthews who was groomed for the NFL... Just couldn't believe the Saints played it "safe" with Vaccaro - I just don't understand drafting a safety in the first round with five career interceptions; then there really isn't that much separation within the position group; and there's some great safeties to be had in the latter rounds... Get the argument that Vaccaro was so good that people didn't throw his way - but where are the forced fumbles, the interceptions, the sacks?!? He's not the game changer that you'd expect to select at that point of the draft... We need overall team speed as well as versatility (especially with the Saints' salary cap dilemma) and Ogletree was a great player and a great solution as he could have played all four linebacker spots... It's not about being right, it's just that he was the right player for the Saints to draft at that moment and instead, we've got another first round project... The third round looked better, though I can't believe we weren't able to polish Ivory up for anything better than a fourth... If Ivory makes the probowl or is a top four RB in the AFC - I think serious criticism and consequences should be brought to bare on Loomis and the Personnel People for the Saints... These drafts just seem like "lazy @$$ effort" by the Saints Front Office... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2013 LIVE DRAFT THREAD
If we can round the draft out well today it could be a very good class.
Cant say i liked going with Armstead but better minds than mine seem to think he is the man.Anyone else notice how completely ignored we seem to be by the media. The trade back into the 3rd was completely ignored so they could talk patriots. Im still p1ssed we lost that second rounder as this draft with Jamie Collins added would have looked pretty good.Im hoping Poyer or Case Thomas fall. Some good players still here in the 4th |

I'll withhold judgement on these guys until at least the end of training camp.

Re: 2013 LIVE DRAFT THREAD
So wait...did Ivory sign a 3yr/3mil contract with the Jets? If so that makes me feel like the deal we got might not have been all that good if he was willing to sign that cheap. I do like the picks so far but still believe that we gave up too much to trade back for a player that I truly believe would have been there in the 4th for one of the two picks we had.
It he 5th I'm hoping for a CB and a playmaker WR/return guy in the 6th. |
