Love the pick, even if Harper somehow sticks around

I'll leave it at this. There MUST be a reason Floyd dropped down to 23rd in the draft. He was predicted top 5 in most drafts.
I remember everyone thinking Sergio Kindle would be a top pick. He dropped to the second round and I even remember asking myself, why did the saints pass on this guy in the second round???? Floyd may end up being great. Just saying, he may not be as great as he originally looked. |

Anyone remember Amobi Okoye? Floyd resembles him in many ways, and go check where Okoye is at now.

If you run 3-4, you must have skilled players behind the down linemen, end of story. For a 3-4 defense, Vicarrio makes most sense. For a 4-3 defense, Floyd would have been the choice.
Like I said, people are nervous because so many things hinge on Ryan, the 3-4, and how he fits the pieces of our defense into a team. |

Re: New Orleans Saints select Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro with the 15th pick
People keep bringing up how bad the defense was last year, like it was all just the players. For God's sake... Spags' defense didn't fit us AT ALL. And by the way, we had no head coach to light a fire under anyone's ass, either.
And comparing Vaccaro to Jenkins is just stupid. Vaccaro is a safety. Always has been a safety, always will be a safety. Jenkins was a corner moved to safety. These are two different positions entirely, and not every player has the instinct to play safety. Jenkins lack of interceptions is not his problem. Hell, I'd be happy if he were anywhere close to the ball just to swat it down. |
