So now what?
Do we try and get that DE or LBer, or do you think we try to fill that LT spot? In later rounds especially I am big on BPA, but this year with glaring holes to fill a specific positions I wouldnt mind taking a tackle at 3rd if there is anyone there.

Re: So now what?
Find a way to get into the second round (trade harper and ivory or trade next years pick) and select Jamie Collins for our other OLB spot, what a beast!
|
Re: So now what?
gotta save drew. the offense will win the games again this year
if this defense wins two games i will be shocked. i am am hoping for some stops for field goals more than anything and Kenny has nothing to do with this opinion. we could have drafted three defensive players in the first and i would feel the same way |
Re: So now what?
O line
LB depth WR NT |
Re: So now what?
I would def like to trade into the second but I dont see anyone giving us a 2nd for either Harper or Ivory and I think both of them would be too much to give up for a 2nd. Maybe Ivory and a later round pick next year?

I bet we get in no particular order CB,OLB, and Tackle!

Re: So now what?
BPA at OT, DT, LB, CB, WR
We still have post draft free-agency to fill holes and add depth. |
Re: So now what?
Coach Payton is definitely trying to convince us that they will go with something similar to a "best player available" approach, but our draft history suggests that our definition of "BPA" is not always indicative of the rest of the league. I think that the Ivory trade is a done deal, which should give us an extra pick tomorrow. There is still a group of OTs in this draft that have promise. OLB and DT has some guys there, too. Someone that we really like will fall to us out of those positions. There is still a run on QBs and RBs yet to come that will help some of the guys in our areas of need to drop to us.

Re: So now what?
I'm praying like Hell we trade up for Tyrann Mathieu , He Vaccaro and Keenan Lewis would make an official Statement to the rest of the League and more importantly our Division " Throw at your own risk " ...
Rob Ryan Needs his Billy Badass on Defense , A Guy who is Loose Cannon but can make it happen between the Lines ... Rob has already hinted intertest in Tyrann lets see if we can pull it together |
Re: So now what?
People like that can also be a locker room cancer.
If they draft him great... I guess. |

Re: So now what?
TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reports the Saints have "shown a lot of interest" in Georgia DE Cornelius Washington.
Washington lit up the Combine, but notched only half a sack last season. Rotoworld's day-two mock draft has Washington going to the Giants at No. 81. The Saints pick No. 75. Related: Saints Source: TFY Draft Insider Man child. |
Re: So now what?
Cornelius Washington has on big question mark in my book. heart? does he really have what it takes inside of him to play up to the physical gift he has.

Re: So now what?
Trade 2014's 1st for a 2nd now. This 2nd round is the most valuable 2nd in memory, and we make more errors in the 1st than later.
2nd round (in priority order): DE Tank Carradine (FSU, 6'4", 278 lbs, 11 sacks in '12): Expected top 10 before ACL. If gone, then… NT John Jenkins (Georgia, 6’3”, 348 lbs). Ideal NT in 3-4 and in the most critical position to successfully run a 3-4. LOT Terron Armstead (AR Pine-Bluff, 6'4", 305 lbs): Avail due to small school. If only we stockpiled seconds like NE. Wow. 2nd is so rich, we may still get shots in… 3rd round DE Damontre Moore (TX A&M, 6'5" 250 lbs, 12.5 sacks in '12): If still avail due to Combine scores, run-stopping concerns, and foolish pass-overs in the 2nd. If gone, then… NT Brandon Williams (Missouri Southern, 6'1", 335lbs). Favorite player in the draft. Teams who figure out how to beat NO simply ignore any Brees’ quick strikes and continue to run up the middle until they can also (continue to) run everywhere else. Someone, please make them stop. 4th round OT Chris Faulk (LSU, 6’5”, 330 lbs). Avail due to coming out early (and, with an ACL). Been inadequate at ROT. Fix already. Inexpensively, too. 5th round K. Geathers (Georgia, 6’5”, 345 lbs). Don’t get “jumpy” but NO was all over Georgia’s pro-day and (mistakenly) passed over OLB Jarvis Jones in round 1. Whodat were they deciding on then? NTs Geathers or Jenkins? 6th round QB Sean Renfree (Duke). What could Sean see in Sean? QB Colby Cameron (LA Tech). The draft was invented to stop a player from being able to go UFA. Someone, stop him. QB Ryan Alpin (AR State). |
Re: So now what?
How aggressive do people want to see the front office tonight?
Use future picks and move up? Trade 3rd for more picks Package later picks and move Or just take the best players we can and hope we can move Ivory/Harper for picks? |
Re: So now what?
I don't think we are going to be able to trade Ivory.I can see the jets taking a RB in one of there next two picks.
|
Re: So now what?
i have no idea what they will do. hope it involves getting some picks
|
Re: So now what?
Until it can't happen I'm hoping the Jets take Harper and Ivory + future pick fir there 2nd or third.
|
Re: So now what?
I'd rather they just stay in the 3rd, take who they think is BPA and continue to try and rip off the Jets for a 4th or 5th since those seem to be a couple of the rounds where the Saints find talent
|
Re: So now what?
I would love to see Armsted drop... but I don't think that is going to happen.
What I would like to see rest of draft... DE... Strong against the run OLB... Pass rusher. WR... down field threat. LT... I doubt we find a starter, but someone whom we can groom. |

Jenkins also adds depth to our defensive line. Good job by the Saints so far... |

Re: So now what?
Thanks much Hagan...
Payton mentioned the Oregon State receiver in his presser last night. Lee909 just put together a nice list of receivers we could draft from. Patton is my first choice... great production throughout his college career. I like Rogers, and would love to see him drop as well. I'll throw one more receiver out there... Anthony Amos from Middle Tennessee State. Big physical target... coming off strong 2012 season. |
Re: So now what?
I am still not sure how I feel about the trade
