Saints move up to get John Jenkins

John Jenkins, NT, Georgia

cost us three players not a smart move with all the talent that is still on the board.

Well really only 2 right? Ivory for the 4th was an even swap, then we added another 4th rounder to move up to the 3rd.

Ivory was a liability...he was hurt more than healthy...I don't understand you ppl and afraid of the trade. We needed to plug this position and this was the best POSITION PLAYER for that. I think it's a GREAT and BALLSY move by our FO.

Here is the math for the slow people:

The Saints traded RB Chris Ivory to the New York Jets for pick 106. The Saints then traded picks 106 and 109 to the Miami Dolphins for the 82nd pick to draft Georgia’s DT John Jenkins

Get it? Got it? Good.

Sounds like a bit of a project. Has a huge upside as well as being just plain huge. If he can get some decent DL coaching (Did we get a new DL coach this year? We should have.) he should be able to spell Bunkley and let Hicks go crazy on the end. Still would have rather had Brandon Williams, but I'm okay with JJ for now and resting a bit easier with the Vaccaro pick.

Okay, so far a safety, an OT and an NT. Where are we going next?

My guess, Seer1, after all the D we just picked...Sean will be grabbing a WR.
