Re: Jets acquire Ivory for a 4th round pick
Sad to see him go but it was a great timing for this move. I really hope he does well for the Jets.

Re: Jets acquire Ivory for a 4th round pick
"It didn't get much notice Friday night, but kudos to the Saints for getting a fourth-round pick out of running back Chris Ivory in a trade. New Orleans sent him to the Jets, as long rumored, for New York's fourth-rounder, 106th overall. Ivory went undrafted in 2010, led the team in rushing as a rookie, and the Saints wound up getting three seasons and a decent mid-round draft choice out of him. That's the way you win the personnel wars in the NFL."

W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

Re: Jets acquire Ivory for a 4th round pick
Wish we could have kept him. He always gave 100% for the Saints!
Good luck to him at the Jets, they have picked up a very good player, especially if he can stay healthy. |

Re: Jets acquire Ivory for a 4th round pick
Jets signed RB Chris Ivory to a three-year contract.
Ivory turned 25 last month, so the three-year deal keeps him under the Jets' control through his age-27 season. He'll be eligible to enter free agency at 28, giving Ivory a chance at another significant contract should he capitalize on the opportunity in New York. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears the agreement is worth about $3 million annually. If so, it's a good deal for both sides. Source: Manish Mehta on Twitter Great for him. I hope he lights the AFC on fire. |

Re: Jets acquire Ivory for a 4th round pick
I always liked Ivory and didn't want to see him go. But it's part of the business and I'm glad we got a 4th round pick for him. I wanted a 3rd but that was dreaming big. Getting a 4th was probably as good as we could of done.

Re: Jets acquire Ivory for a 4th round pick
Chris Ivory plans to put up “crazy numbers” in Jets’ offense | ProFootballTalk
In three seasons with the Saints, Chris Ivory showed off some highlight-reel runs and averaged an impressive 5.1 yards a carry. But he was buried on a crowded depth chart, and in 2012 he ran the ball only 40 times all season. Now Ivory has been traded to the Jets, and he thinks that’s just the change he needs to become one of the best backs in the NFL. “It’s an opportunity for me to really get the carries that I deserve,” Ivory said, via the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “I put the work in every day and every week. I just feel like it’s my time. . . . I feel like I can go out there and do some great things with the opportunities I’ll be given, and I know I’m going to make the most of it. With every little glimpse I had in New Orleans, I did great things. If I’m getting more than six and seven carries a game, the sky is the limit for me. I can do some great things and put up some crazy numbers in New York.” The Jets and Ivory have agreed to terms on a new three-year contract, and he’s viewed as their No. 1 running back going forward. If the future of the Jets’ offense is Ivory as the starting running back and Geno Smith as the starting quarterback, most Jets fans would gladly take that over a pairing of Bilal Powell and Mark Sanchez. |
