The Saints have to be very workman like over the next 2 months. We are going to get a whole boatload of teams that we are supposed to beat. The difference between a mediocre team and a championship caliber team is how you handle the routine games against teams you are supposed to beat. Between now and the KC game November 14th (2 months from now) we should beat SanFran, the cards, San Diego, and Oakland. Just get on the field, be efficient, use the talent available, and win the games. The next step up are TB (the sole division game in the stretch), Minnesota (potent offense), and the Rams ( playoff team from last year). Ideally we can take 2 of 3 of those (but probably 1 of 3 in reality) coming into the KC game 5-3 or 6-2.

But we need that kind of start. Everyone wants to tank the team after one horrific game against the presumptive NFC representative in the SB this year. But the NFL is about overall seasons and especially about winning the games you\'re supposed to win.

So while you as a fan can feel lackluster about the SanFran game, the team had better not. It\'s a must win for them and they had better be ready to win.

Dberce1, I\'m with you man. I can\'t believe how much that loss has effected me, even though I am not a complete sunshiner, it really sapped me to see them play so badly. I had a nightmare last nite they lost to the Niners. Hope that was just indigestion.

I will always be a Saints fan, but man, if they lose to the Niners...ahh, I will already start going into the \"Wait til next year guys, we\'ll win it all\" mode.

I\'ll go out on a limb and say right now, Seattle will NOT be in the Super Bowl this year. They\'re everybody\'s darling, and it\'s nearly a mathematical certainly that the favorite or cinderella in September won\'t be playing in January or February.

Let\'s take the Seattle game for exactly what it was - another druming by a team with about the same talent level, a very similar history of mediocrity and unfulfilled expectations, and a much better coach. You decide what made the difference.

I\'d be willing to bet you could have switched the uniforms on the teams and the outcome would have been about the same...

dberce1,

I think the question should be what happens if we lose the 49er\'s?

Man there\'s going to be some trouble brewing in the New Orleans community, if we start 0 and 2 or 0 and 3, look for outward callings for Haslett\'s head from both the media and fans.

I just hope we win this weekend and don\'t care how good the niners are right now. We need the first win and the rest will follow and WhoDat I agree with you, the Hawks won\'t be in the superbowl this year.

yeah if we lose this week I think Has will be gone actually... Benson may start interview a temporary replacement by Sunday night.

You and many of us are suffering from the let down from all the HYPE... I knew there was much to much hype going on but even New England lost the opener last year.

As long as Haslett is around, this team will be a loser....why? Because he is surgically attached at the hip with AB. He will continue to trot the smiling joker out there until someone runs him off. This team needs a change at the QB position. I don\'t think the players will ever play again for AB, and if Haz had any sense he would recognize this fact and make a change...but...wait...this is the N.O. Saints. You can trot Pass Road Elementery out there and fans just keep coming back for more. It\'s a lose, lose situation. The owner has us all by the short hairs and knows it. Quit coming, and he\'ll move his team. Continue coming and he will keep filling coaching and player positions with pretenders. LOSE....LOSE!!

Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!

The worst thing that could happen to this team is for Haslett to get fired mid-year. Benson would go back to his trusty but extremely bad friend - Rick Venturi. Venturi would serve out the rest of the year as interim head coach. If you think it can\'t get any worse, it can.

Psst. Come here. I actually have the secret of why the Saints are losers... Listen closely.

See there\'s a house on St. Claude just past Franklin. It\'s a house of Voodoo. Brooks pissed off the woman that lives in the house one day while she was out shopping. Ever since that day Brooks has been plagued to be pegged as a loser no matter what he does. Plagued by no nothing fans that blame every mistake that the Saints makes on him. This will continue until he apologizes or until he retires from the NFL.

I mean it\'s the only story that fits this continual \"Brooks sucks, Brooks sucks!\" from these wannabe posters that show up on a regular basis.

Cursed by the Voodoo lady.

He will continue to trot the smiling joker out there until someone runs him off. This team needs a change at the QB position. If Brooks stays he and the Saints will be cursed forever.

Got it. I understand the story now.
