Sean Payton Recaps 2013 Saints Draft Class

It's interesting to hear thought process behind our drafting philosophy. Makes sense that as you go deeper into the draft and the highly touted, talented D1 picks come off the board, and as you begin looking at the smaller school prospects, you look for physical traits that would predict success for that position rather than just staistics. Many smaller school prospects may not have the sexy statistical numbers because of the lack of talent around them

This years draft was a HR for only 5 picks! I love our draft my main concern is our secondary and we addressed that! We got our LT! Terron Armstead is an absolute beast he would've been a top 10 guy had he not wanted to play two sports in college! Only reason he fell to the 3rd rd is because of the media and his FCS school He was the freakiest athlete at the combine! His track background will help in his blocking because of the flexibility and leg movement to throw a shot put it isn't easy and it's all hips and legs!

Watch we will be dominant again we got 2nd and 3rd rd talent in undrafted FA heck I believe Chase Thomas and Kelvin Reddick will win jobs this yr heck they probably will be starters on the defense by yr 2! They will be special teamers right away! I believe Chase might beat out some of the OLB for either a reserve role or maybe even a starter!
