Malcolm Jenkins could see more nickel

GM Mickey Loomis said the Saints will consider moving FS Malcolm Jenkins to nickel back on passing downs in an effort to get first-round pick Kenny Vaccaro on the field.

This suggests the Saints are indeed planning to keep both Jenkins and Roman Harper. It's also possible the scenario could be reversed, with Vaccaro manning the slot on passing downs. The Saints didn't take Vaccaro at No. 15 overall with a limited role in mind. He'll play major snaps for a defense that was one of the worst in league history last season.

We could see Malcolm even more at just plain old CB by the time the season runs into the post.... You didn't see it here first, but you saw it here.

So now Payton personally spoke with Jenkins about drafting Vacarro, and has now informed Jenkins that he'll be the NB on passing downs instead of FS.

If he has a bit of pressure up front and a little coverage help he will definitely have a good year. I really like the kid.

If we get more pressure up front all the DBs will have a better year
