Saints have $3.1 million in cap space after the Chris Ivory trade
Following last week’s draft-day trade of running back Chris Ivory from the New Orleans Saints to the New York Jets, the Saints have a little more salary cap space.
According to figures from the NFLPA, the Saints now have $3.1 million in cap space. By sending Ivory to the Jets for a fourth-round pick, the Saints were able to save Ivory’s $2.023 million salary. Since landing with the Jets, Ivory has signed a three-year, $10 million contract. The Saints can spend some of their cap savings to sign a remaining free agent. They’ll also need about $1.6 million to $2 million in cap space to sign their rookies. New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com |
