Entering his ninth season in the NFL, and with 88 games under his belt, Lance Moore is currently the most tenured receiver on the New Orleans Saints roster.
He is coming off one of his best seasons after hauling in a career-high 1,041 receiving yards on 65 receptions for a team-best 16.0 yards per catch average. The Saints currently have 10 receivers on their roster with Marques Colston, Moore and Courtney Roby being the only wideouts with more than three years of experience. Moore, speaking at a charity basketball game Wednesday night to support his Community Cares Foundation, said he is ready help lead the Saints young receiving core. “It’s funny because I am the oldest, the guy that has been in the league the longest of the receivers,” said Moore. “So it’s funny to look at me like the old guy, but I still have a lot of ball left in me. Marques Colston, Courtney Roby and myself are doing what we can to bring the younger guys along. We have some younger guys coming in as well, we have a pretty good group.” A larger group of players hoping to make the Saints will be participating in the team’s rookie minicamp this weekend. Moore, a former undrafted free agent and member of the Saints practice squad, said he was very nervous for his first rookie minicamp in 2005 with the Cleveland Browns and stressed he will help the roster hopefuls as much as he can. “Being an undrafted free agent guy, that label never leaves you,” said Moore. “You will have that no matter how long you play in the league. You can do what you can to help those guys and let them know that as long as they put in the work and they perform well when they are on the field, they will always have a chance. That’s how I made my name.” Lance Moore is Ready to be the Veteran Leader of the New Orleans Saints Receivers |

Ma, I love me some Lance Moore. So does his mom. I know. She sent me a PM about him. I wish I knew how to share it with the forum.

Lance is our Wes Welker. Maybe not as prolific as Wes but clutch and gives Drew a good target in clutch situations. He has that thing, that undefinable something, the difference maker that makes him invaluable. Y'all know what I'm talking about, he just makes plays.
