Re: Why Marques Colston Is the NFL's Most Underrated Receiver
I guess his "The Quiet Storm" nickname rings absolutely true in this instance. In the Who Dat Nation, he's a very popular player that the majority of us are very vocal and rave about. Outside of us, you barely hear a whisper.

Re: Why Marques Colston Is the NFL's Most Underrated Receiver
I really never noticed him until I started hanging out here and then after participating in that one Colston thread a while back, I noticed the m'fer was putting up Calvin Johnson-type stats, .
It's gotta' be the way Drew spreads the ball around. Don't buy the "pass-happy offense" theory either. The year Brees threw for 5476yds, who was right behind him with 5038yds & throwing to Calvin Johnson? Is Johnson a fluke because he's in a pass-happy offense? It's the nature of the league. That kind of logic doesn't hold up to the across-the-board stress-test. The guy is underrated and for the most part, is unnoticed ... which is a good thing for the Saints because your opponents are sitting there dumbfounded as this guy is catching the ball and wondering, "who the f@#k is that?" ... I know, speaking from experience {circa 2011}, . |

Re: Why Marques Colston Is the NFL's Most Underrated Receiver
that is so true. it is all about ESPN high light reels to get the over the top hype. being solid and steady means nothing any more.
besides i think it is even more amazing he puts up good numbers ever year in a system where he is just a cog in the passing attack not the focal point. drew is a leader in distributing the ball to wr also boosts colston play. |
