Khiry Robinson, RB
I was curious about the 5th RB on the roster now that Ivory has been traded to the Jets and given the late success we have had with undrafted RBs.
Signed by Saints, 5/13/13…In two seasons at West Texas A&M after transferring from Blinn (Texas) Junior College, rushed for 2,290 yards and 26 touchdowns and caught 60 passes for 612 yards and six touchdowns…In 2012, named to the D2Football.com All-America and first-team All-Conference as he led the Buffaloes and Lone Star Conference with a school-record 1,621 yards on the ground with 15 touchdowns while also adding 38 receptions for 430 yards and four touchdowns…In 2011, carried 103 times for 669 yards and 11 TDs while also catching 22 passes for 182 yards and two scores…Majored in sports & exercise science…Prepped at Belton (Texas) HS, earning All-District and All-Centex honors…Also lettered in track & field...Born December 28, 1989. New Orleans Saints: Khiry Robinson D2 or not +1600yds is great regardless of level. The kid runs hard. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the pre-season games. |
Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
Not the fastest but seems to have good vision & control of his body. Looks to follow block well also
|
Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
Not to take anything away for this young man. But I hope we never see him on the field. I want our other studs to just Dominate this year
|
Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
Looks like he has good vision and balance with nice speed, and at 6'1" and 220, he's got some good size to him. He might be the next Ivory.
|
Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
A couple years on the PS as an understudy to Sproles, and he just might be his replacement.
|
Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
From the looks of him on the video, he seems to have incredible footwork and equally as good balance.
|
Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
His footwork and ability to cut is pretty impressive. Seems to read the gaps and where he has his blocks well as well. At the end of the day when someone like this is given a chance as your 5th stringer, you know your franchise should be in pretty good shape :)

Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
Practice squad no, I'd like to see him returning kicks and if someone gets hurt, let him show what he has, I know what Ivory had +yds., so lets see??

Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
Runs like a slower Reggie Bush and a faster Pierre Thomas
|
Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
I knew something was up when I was looking at the OTA photo's and Drew was handing off to him!!!

Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
We always carry 4 RBs; Sproles, Ingram, Thomas, Robinson... Depth and at 6'1 220, he has the size to run like Ivory. Let's just hope he's a little more durable

Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
Robinson seems pretty good at breaking tackles and he also has a decent 2nd gear.........he's not fast or quick but he gets movin' in a hurry. He has good balance and power and could be a good player.
I like that he's a return man. The more the merrier. We could use the competition at the 4th RB spot.........our backs are getting older and we need to be working on their replacements. Cadet looked good last year, but he seemed to hit a wall at mid season and wasn't as productive in the last half of the year. He did take some unnecessary risks in kick offs that only got us to the twenty yard line. |

Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
That footage sure showed some tough, initiated contact for his dimunitive stature...
But this is the NFL (Not For Long), and I wonder if he will be as an effective runner or if he will need to alter his style... If he likes to hit that much, we could always move him to Strong Safety as he was a two-way player in JUCO Ball... |

At Washington State University, Chris Ivory played 3 seasons, had 91 rushes for 534 yards and 4 TDs. At Tifton, he had 39 rushes for 223 yards in five games before suffering a season-ending knee injury. In his senior year alone at West Texas A&M, Khiry Robinson ran for 1654 yards on 247 carries (6.6 ypc) in 13 games. I'd say his durability isn't in question. |
Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
Does sound durable. He looks like a RT clone to me.
|
Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
Sorry meant PT clone
|
Re: Khiry Robinson, RB
Sounds like he could battle Cadet for a spot on ST.

I hope Khiry can become a special teams ace for us. He has decent speed, toughness and has played both O and D. |
