So is Drew going to be a team player or neaux?

Tom Brady did a redux on his contract for the team?

Winning multiple Lombardi Trophies will yield a lifetime of revenue that a short-sighted contract will not do...

N'est-ce pas?

:bng:

The "saintly" Tom Brady redid his deal because it guaranteed him $30,000,000 more in guarantees in the form of a signing bonus.

Oak, that first statement is not accurate...

The Saints tried to extend Brees the year before the passing blitzkrieg the Saints unleashed on the league - breaking Marino's record...

And Bushrod and his agent were saavy enough to wait on the extension offered and for him, well, he's whole lot richer in Chicago than had he stayed in New Orleans...

But you're also right in that where they screwed the pooch was extending guys like Will Smith, Roman Harper, and Charles Grant - those guys turned around and each laid their own Mr. Hankey...

So extended early, when projecting age vs production, can be windfall moves, allowing the team to really improve the talent level fast as they give themselves cap room...

Why does everybody talk about Brady's redo as if he did the team a favor....... Brady's wife also pulls in millions of dollars so I do believe he is in a better position for a redo than any other qb in the league.....

Feel what your saying Cat - but millions he's made in Louisiana or really anywhere is pretty good security...

What I'm concerned about as a fan of the Saints is being sure we can sign our developed players and quality free agent players to make this team a perennial competitor...

And even the great Loomidini can't keep postponing the inevitable, we're gonna get bit in the arse at some point...

He will get paid. He will get paid by the Saints. He and his agent could have pushed the Saints into a contract this offseason. He deserves more than he's being paid. But, after a year of being injured and some inconsistency catching the ball, it wouldn't have been good for Graham or the team. Now back healthy, and with the team poised for a big year, the payoff for Graham next offseason is set to be higher.

Of course, but then you do what the Colts did, blow it all up and start from scratch. Likely going to have to do that anyway, at least a little bit, when Brees hangs it up.

He has a contract for a year. I'm not going to lose any sleep over "what if's"
Ok, just one "What if he gets a gazillion dollar new contract and blows out a knee on the very first play?" Even if he gets the gazillion dollar contract just like his QB did all we will hear is "Now we can't afford to go after any "Big Name" FA's" Sound familiar?
