OK - so let me get this straight - your argument then, if you can put aside the sarcasm, is that our offensive line is opening holes well, the play calling is good, and the problem is simply that Deuce isn\'t performing. Is that correct? Deuce is THE problem, or at least the MAJOR problem with the running game. That\'s your claim?

The thing I\'m saying (a bit sarcastically I admit) is that I\'m noticing folks come to Deuce\'s defense and make excuse after excuse for him. I find that a bit strange...or at least a tad hypocritical. You don\'t?

Not in the least. First of all, most of us admit that Deuce is not playing up to his potential right now. Part of that is Deuce. Part of that is coaching. Part of that is a porous O-line.

I\'m interested as to how you can rush to the defense of a young QB whose numbers put him in the middle of the league and whose sporatic play is a source of constant frustration for even teammates and coaches, but you are unwilling to place blame on anyone other than you star Pro Bowl RB, whose has consistently proven his worth for a number of years, and after a coaching decision changed the system in which he thrived. Maybe you can explain that to me. ;)

I guess that depends on why he hadn\'t thrown one - most probably, I\'d go back the same argument I\'ve used on Brooks for a long time - not the right system. Amazingly, that\'s the same argument I\'m using with Deuce! :o

We can make this very simple if you want. Answer a few questions for me.

Over the last two or three seasons, who has been the Saints MVP?

Who was the MVP coming into this season?

Who is the MVP now? this season? long-term?

How many teams would trade their RB straight up for Deuce? How many would trade their QB straight up for Brooks?

How about :

Brooks inability to run the offense properly ( making plays up in the huddle and missing wide open receivers ) requires Mc Carthy to alter the game plan virtually eliminating the rushing game ......

Being down 21 - 7 going into the 4th quarter does not leave a whole lot of room for a clock consuming rushing game .... ;)

Ummm, at this point 08 Brooks is nearly the only player who\'s name can be used in the same sentence with the word \"properly\". One thing\'s for sure, and that\'s that Deuce\'s name doesn\'t qualify.

People who know me -- those who have been around this site for a while -- know what my real intention is. I guess I just don\'t inderstand what part of no hundred yard games...no TD\'s, no long runs, etc, etc you just don\'t get.

im not going to listen to how deuce sucks because thats just silly. the problem is without a doubt the fullback issue. bro u cant run a single back set and not have it live off the pass. it has to live off the pass because u have to run a lot of draws. more then usual. not every play. but u would almost certainly have to throw the ball from the start to set the run up in a one back set. simple as that.
n that brings me to my next point. i dont understand with all of the talent at wr and te why we r a run it first team. we can still run the ball 25 times a game and be a throw it first offense. and we need to be. the focus of this team is ridiculous. im tires of hearing how our run should set up everything. it shouldnt. our pass shouldnt open up our run.

also when a guy rushes for over 1600 yards in a season in the nfl. which has 32 teams n hes top 5 or 8 thats pretty significant. never mind who he is off the field. im just a deuce fan i guess because he just has that rare ability to be great on the field and off.
