this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I am not sure the Saints have the right players for the 3-4. However, any evaluation at this point is a bit unfair. Let the PADS come on and then evaluate. I know it sounds familiar, but whomever the Saints ...

I know it sounds familiar, but whomever the Saints put on the field for D...they had better learn to tackle and not have DB's playing 10 yards off receivers. Rant over! |

Re: Finding right players in new Saints defense no easy task
I'm not a fan of the ranking a defense by yards allowed only. Below is where our defense ranked in specific areas the year we won the Super Bowl.
If I had to put the ranch on one player for our 2009 success it's a tie between Brees and Sharper. 2009 defense- Greg Williams defense doesn't look so good does it? Points allowed - 20th Yards allowed - 25th Passing yards allowed - 26th Passing TD allowed - 5th Rushing yards - allowed - 21st Rushing TD allowed - 28th INT - 3rd Turnover ratio - 2nd What this tells me is that we don't need a top 10 or top 15 defense as long as it generates turnovers, and the offense stays on step. The difference between a winning season and a SB season is being able to capitalize on our opponents mistakes. |

Proof that stat's are for LOSERS!!! A bottom 10 defense and a championship. Which one do you remember? Both a top 5 D and a championship are good but proven one does not beget the other.

first off, who cares what some writer for the advocate says?
secondly... our team was duct taped by the bounty lies of roger goodell. that last place defense stat needs to have an "*" next to it in the record books. third... 2 DAT! shock the world, i telluwhut. |

we have the players that played during the super bowl still on the roster and they played 43 and 43 and a bunch of set ups yet to be named.
I do not buy into this media out for RR. the players are on the roster. only concerns i have is at ILB and NT. |
