Re: Devery Henderson signs with Redskins...
Nice and I always liked Devery dating back to his LSU days. Hope things work out for you up in D.C!

Devery Henderson dropped 4 passes in 2012, 3 in 2011, 5 in 2010, and 2 in 2009. That's 14 over 4 seasons. His drop rate in that span is 7 percent, less than Donald Driver, Aaron Hernandez, Jimmy Graham, Wes Welker, Miles Austin, Steve Smith, Dwayne Bowe and Santonio Holmes, among others. |

Here's one.... Devery Henderson Stats - ESPN There is no official stat for drops ... but if you look at the stats, it does suggest a bit more than meets the eye. |
Re: Devery Henderson signs with Redskins...
14 drops over 4 seasons? Thats impressive, Jimmy graham dropped close to that amount of passes just last year

As for what is "more than meets the eye" I would assume you are referring to targets-to-catch ratio. Which I would argue has more to do with the difficulty of completing a longer pass than drops, since Henderson was the deep threat. 57.6% catch rate for Henderson in those four years, as opposed to 64.6 for Colston. Not a big difference considering. As already mentioned, Graham drops quite a few passes, but I don't see his career being subject to this "drops" narrative. Henderson's reputation for dropping passes is the result of intellectual laziness. |
