FACT:

Devery Henderson dropped 4 passes in 2012, 3 in 2011, 5 in 2010, and 2 in 2009. That's 14 over 4 seasons.

His drop rate in that span is 7 percent, less than Donald Driver, Aaron Hernandez, Jimmy Graham, Wes Welker, Miles Austin, Steve Smith, Dwayne Bowe and Santonio Holmes, among others.

There is no official stat for drops ... but if you look at the stats, it does suggest a bit more than meets the eye.

14 drops over 4 seasons? Thats impressive, Jimmy graham dropped close to that amount of passes just last year

There are plenty of metrics sites out there that track these things.

As for what is "more than meets the eye" I would assume you are referring to targets-to-catch ratio. Which I would argue has more to do with the difficulty of completing a longer pass than drops, since Henderson was the deep threat.

57.6% catch rate for Henderson in those four years, as opposed to 64.6 for Colston. Not a big difference considering.

As already mentioned, Graham drops quite a few passes, but I don't see his career being subject to this "drops" narrative. Henderson's reputation for dropping passes is the result of intellectual laziness.
