Former Saints/Chiefs lineman Kyle Turley now belts out country tunes in Nashville
Former Chiefs lineman Kyle Turley and former Packers running back Dorsey Levens are teaming up through a “crowdfunding” website called Indiegogo.com to raise awareness of concussion issues.
A Chiefs offensive lineman during 2006-07, Turley’s approach might be considered the more interesting of the two. Turley, a two-time NFL All-Pro perhaps best known for his infamous helmet-tossing episode on the Superdome sideline when he played for the Saints in 2001, is about to release a country music album entitled “Skull Shaker.” Now 37 and living in Nashville, Turley is hoping to raise money for the project through crowdfunding — explained by IndieGoGo as “the collective effort of individuals who network and pool their money to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations.” An IndieGoGo news release states that in 2011, “crowdfunding platforms raised an estimated $1.5 billion worldwide. In 2013 that number is projected to exceed $5.1 billion.” The website claims to have provided the platform for a single fund raiser that resulted in nearly $320,000 in contributions for victims of Hurricane Sandy. All proceeds from Turley’s single “Fortune and Pain” have gone to the Gridiron Greats Association Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides support for needy retired NFL players. “The goal of this campaign is to continue to expand my community outreach for the betterment of the game of football and its fans,” Turley said. “Concussions are a reality of the game, and education is the key to defeat many of the long-term consequences. “My music is my story, football is America’s pastime, and I intend to defend her and the great men who have graced her fields past, present and future.” Levens, meanwhile, is seeking financial support for a documentary film entitled “Bell Rung,” which warns of the effects of repeated head trauma. The film is currently 48 minutes long; Levens hopes to extend it to 90 minutes by raising additional financial support. Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/2013/07/18...#storylink=cpy |

Full song. Better than a whole lot of the crap you hear on the radio. |

This doesn't look anything like like Turley. He's an imposter.......albeit a damn good one.

He was on the radio during Superbowl Week here in Indy. He can't sing, or at least the day I heard him he couldn't sing.

Amazing transformation!
Always remember Turley and the Jets game when he launched Damien Robinson's helmet across the field after AB got necktied. |
