Interesting.
However good our offence is though, and it is very good indeed, the quicker we go, the quicker we may score (and hand the ball back) or, sometimes, the quicker we turnover the ball through interception, downs or punt. That means we are effectively 'rushing' our defence onto the field. That is NOT something I want to do. We have proven in the Brees/Payton era that we are a near unstoppable offensive juggernaut. I wouldn't change something that simply isn't broken. Only two things ever stand out on offence to me as something I would want to tweak. 1) Use the run game more. We have a great committee and can further open up play action for Brees. 2) Throw the ball away on a dead play. Whilst Drew can make miracles happen, he does also bin one too many crappy passes into the opposition when a row Z Hail Mary would have been better. Loving the enthusiasm coming out of these reports and out of camp generally but changing our offence and how we put points on the board...sceptical. Very sceptical. |
