Keenan Lewis Already Making Major Impact for New Orleans Saints

The biggest move for the New Orleans Saints this offseason outside of getting head coach Sean Payton back was the signing of former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Keenan Lewis.

In Pittsburgh Lewis was a major contributor and No. 1 corner, but the team was confident in letting him walk thanks to Cortez Allen and Ike Taylor.

Good thing they were, because Lewis is already having a major impact in New Orleans according to Terrance Harris of NOLA.com:

"Lewis came up with two impressive pass breakups in coverage during 7-on-7 drills during the morning session. And then during team scrimmage he came up with a nice interception of a Drew Brees deep ball to third-year wide receiver Joseph Morgan. Lewis never allowed Morgan to get behind him which gave him excellent leverage for the interception."

The national media did not make a big deal of the Lewis signing this offseason, but if you ever watched him play in Pittsburgh you knew he was a special talent.

Lewis is a bigger corner who fits well in the scheme and is already the No. 1 corner on the depth chart. His presence is already felt, and while it’s easy to say it’s early and to not get excited, this type of perforamce from Lewis was easy to see coming.

Good. I expect a nice tandem this year between him and Greer. Should make it harder for Atlanta.

We know your frustration - we don't draft first rounders worth a crap, but starting with Drew, and though not all have worked out, we've had some remarkable FA signings...

He managed to keep Morgan infront of him and then went up to snag the ball, that is some serious speed and athleticism by Lewis to say how fast morgan is
