Brees raved about TE Tyler Lorenzen last year too, who was cut.

I've learned to take Brees' compliments of other players with a grain of salt and a shot of tequilla.

There's a big difference between Lorenzen and Watson, though. Watson is a proven veteran. Lorenzen was just a project with a little bit of potential.
