this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Hummmm Smith on Gonzalez I am not too sure I can get excited about that possible match up week 1....

I read somewhere that RR dropped LBs into coverage only 18% of the time last year, utilizing the safeties in coverage more.

I don't know; I'm starting to like that he may start at LB. From all reports, his pass coverage has been improving and RR only drops the LBs in coverage roughly 20% of the time.
That other 80%, his size/strength can be well used to set the edge and hopefully blow up any TE/RB trying to block him when he's rushing the passer... |
