New Saints defense under Ryan produces 5 sacks, 3 turnovers, in scrimmage

The defense run by new coordinator Rob Ryan is showing early promise for the New Orleans Saints, compiling five sacks and three turnovers during a scrimmage on Saturday. Outside linebacker Junior Galette had two sacks, one each against Drew Brees and Luke McCown. Veteran cornerback Chris Carr, who chose during free agency to rejoin Ryan, his former coordinator in Oakland, made an interception. He also tipped McCown's pass for Nick Toon, which linebacker David Hawthorne snagged for another interception.
Brees led one scoring drive of 13 plays, capped by Mark Ingram's 2-yard touchdown run. Brees did not have a touchdown pass while sharing snaps with two other quarterbacks in a 64-play scrimmage.
Rookie linebacker Eric Martin sacked McCown and also caused a turnover by stripping Ingram.

Offcially my favorite UDFA of 2013.

Could he be our own version of James Harrison?

If the D can preform 1/2 like this in a regular season game it will be at least 15th in the league.

Or better. Just think, the 2011 defense ranked 13th (points allowed), and we had Mitch King, Turk McBride, Sed Ellis, Tracy Porter, Johnny Patrick, Leigh Torrence, Jonathan Amaya, Scott Shanle, Shaun Rogers and Jeff Charleston.

There's not a guy listed above that we haven't upgraded, and that crew finished ranked 13th.

I'd be disappointed if we finished in the 20's and I fully expect to finish in the mid-teens.

I expect to finish top 10 ish ... Because of our offense , if they can't score On Their first 3 or 4 drives we could have 21 or at least 14 points On The board , which means to come back they'd have to comeback by throwing ... Make even the best passer one dimensional and it's over , let last season be a lesson
