The defense played well. I like to see that. Glenn Foster had a nice game.

Re: OFFICIAL SAINTS VS. CHIEFS GAMEDAY THREAD
I didnt realise you got stung for full price on preseason games. The soccer games in the UK are normally a little cheaper but the normal season are are getting ridiculous. I have not been to watch my team in years.I live miles away and the price of travel, tickets, hotel anf food when set me back loads.
Sports dont belong to the fans anymore, all the teams care about is the numbers and how tight they can turn the screw before people dont go. |

Re: OFFICIAL SAINTS VS. CHIEFS GAMEDAY THREAD
I dunno. I listened to the first half, so no video for me, but I'll watch it tomorrow on DVR.
I'm never looking for much in the pre-season, especially the first game of the pre-season. It sounds like there was some good and some bad. Did anyone really expect much more (or less)? |

Re: OFFICIAL SAINTS VS. CHIEFS GAMEDAY THREAD
************ It's Pre-season**********
It counts... but in a different way, no one is trying to win until the last Qtr when the worst string is in. Preseason is where you want to find all the things you can't do, or do poorly. Did well: 1. Ingram looked 1 yard better than last year. 2. I seem to stand alone on the island where our D did about as good as any against Jamal Charles/ run game. 3. As bad as we looked on the opening drive the Defense ONLY allowed 215 yards the entire game. Yes it's preseason, we laid down 427 yards. Didn't so well: 1. Linebacker experiment is suspect. 2. Special teams were suspect..... But hasn't McMahons ST always been? Again..... On defense , it's preseason.... We only looked bad the first drive and our LB corps is an experiment right now. We should stop comparing to 2012, it's apples to oranges. |

Yes, its still a work in progress, but I'm liking the progress I see. |
Re: OFFICIAL SAINTS VS. CHIEFS GAMEDAY THREAD
I wouldn't like to be Agnew when he turns up for practice next for the Chiefs.
McCown really target him last night |

Re: OFFICIAL SAINTS VS. CHIEFS GAMEDAY THREAD
From what I could piece together from spotty WWL signal here, and just seeing the score, it sounded really sloppy. I didnt get a great look at replay, but initially, Im pleasantly surprised: My #1 concern was pass protection. It looks at least as good as last year. Drew looks "on."
Armstrong looks like a viable option for Charles Brown. I was not disappointed in defense, except I dont understand how Will Smith is going to cover backs. Kenny Vaccaro looks like the real deal, and I was skeptical of the pick. We are still a pass-first team, and the O-line appear tuned to pass block first. I'm good with this. We still have PT & Sproles, and Ingram still shows promise, and working off our pass threat, I think our running game will be fine. Defense is still like a blind date-- I have high hopes, but can make do with less. -- Drew Brees left the field in one piece, walking on his own feet, so I think we can smile. I LOVE preseason. They put on their helmets and play football. You get to see who might be a star, a la Pierre Thomas. Real football & cooler weather is coming. Its the most wonderful time of the year. As far as the issues, I sell my p-season tix, so no big deal. And I'll be making the trip from Texas for the home games, win or lose-- But really, there is no lose. You're in New Orleans. |
