Mike Detillier (saintsreport.com, NFL scout for years), who was on Richard Condon\'s show today, said there would be a deal made within a week. Also, despite what some people are saying, the Saints are still the main team in contention.

On the sports wrap show on 870 they reported that the saints are waiting to see if his hamstring is okay. I think they want to see him in action. Now they say that the Cowboys were in contention but since they recentely added some body they are not likely to make a move. It was also said that Parcells has two first rounders but he holds his picks to be very valuable. The Raiders also showed interest. The Packers stated a deal would be done problally right at the trade dead line.
This is just want I remember them saying. |

here\'s the latest from KFFL.......
There has been plenty of speculation that the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers are closing in on a deal that would send disgruntled corner Mike McKenzie to the Saints. However, word out of New Orleans is that this deal appears to be on hold for the time being and may not happen at all. It appears the Packers would be more comfortable sending McKenzie to an AFC team rather than another team in the NFC. Plus, McKenzie\'s current injury issues surely can\'t be helping matters any. |

i\'ve heard that the deal is very close and a 2nd rd. pick and a veteran DLman would be the compensation... i just wonder who it would be? i\'m sure howard green doesn\'t draw that much interest, so maybe darren howard? i would say whitehead, but he\'s on IR, so we can\'t trade him, so i am perplexed as to who Green Bay is interested in taking in exchange for their All-Pro CB
