Deuce Debate
To all you people that think Duece is not a good back need some hope. Really, i mean he rushed for 100 yards 9 straight times last year only third place behind barry saders who had 13 straight 100 yards games one year. 1,641 yards rushing 10 tds 8 rushing 2 receiving you really need to get your heads examined.
Moderator note : This is a borderline post . Do not start a post with an attack on a view point . Debate the point . I have changed the title , rather then deleting the thread .Next time it goes in the trash bin . [Edited on 1/10/2004 by saintz08] |

Deuce Debate
I agree that people seem to be too down on Deuce at the moment. He obviously has his faults but even so he ran for 1600+ yards last season.
What kills me are the people saying now that Stecker is better than Deuce. We\'ve seen Deuce in one game this year against a D that is turning some heads. Stecker didn\'t do all that great against the 49ers and I\'m sure we can agree that what Stecker did against the Rams Deuce could have done as well. Bottomline is we\'re finding out that Deuce isn\'t the end all be all of this team as some have suggested, but just another cog in the machine. |

Deuce Debate
It\'s not only that he ran for 1600 yards - it\'s that he is so good after first contact, that he has the rare ability to run away, run over, or leave you grabbing nothing but air that makes him rare in the league. He\'s a solid blocker in pass protection and he can catch the ball well. He is a complete back, and that is why he is missed.

Deuce Debate
Not to mention that he does his job quietly, without a lot of dancing or off-field incidents, and continues to perform at top level even when the rest of his team isn\'t matching his dedication. That\'s worth a lot.

Deuce Debate
Would everyone here rather see him in another uniform? I think we can agree he would be a dominant back just about anywhere. And then, once again, we could have other fans asking, \"what the **** were you guys thinking?!\" Deuce is the back we need, but in these times of championship rings going to just about any team that can put it together, he, like so many, might be getting a little impatient with the powers that be. Surely everyone can see we have been a mediocre team the past several seasons, no better, no worse, and sometimes that\'s even worst than being a terrible team.

Deuce Debate
honestly, i cannot believe that there a people crazy enough to insinuate that this team would be better off without deuce mcallister... did we forget already that this guy is one of the best all around backs in the league? yes, this season thus far for deuce has been disappointing at best, but #26 is the cornerstone of our team... he should be the focal point that we build around for the future.

Deuce Debate
This has got to be one of the most ridiculous threads I\'ve ever seen. If anyone is now thinking that the Saints can win more than half of their games without deuce and with stecker, they need help. The only reason that Deuce has struggled this year (in my opinion) is that T. Smith is gone and the offensive coordinator didn\'t see fit to include a fullback in most of the running plays so far this season. I\'ve been saying for two seasons that I don\'t like Mike McCarthy. This is another example of why.

Deuce Debate
Euphoria someone posted on here yesterday the thread was erased but it said Duece is inconsistant and disappears at times. Now of course after posting 9 straight 100 yard games. The streak ended when we played the giants last year. Of course theres going to be a drop off in production thats alot of wear and tear.
