Best Take Aways From 1st Preseason Game ...
1. Sean Payton was disappointed - Listen to his Interview , We've learned how to lose last year ( Not finishing Drives and Not Getting off of the field in 3rd and long and playing to other teams level rather than dragging them along the field until it's over) and we reeked of it while the starters were in. We look like we know what we're doing but something just isn't clicking. Remember though The last game he coached in was 2011's loss vs the 49'ers . A very high caliber and polished level of football was played that day by both teams. He expected to see flashes of that. He did not.
2. The best part about this Season is Sean Payton is actually here to fix it ! Last year when we were losing the only explanation we got was the old cliche of " we have to work harder and get into the groove of things " ... Truth be told Most of the losing we did last year was in huge part due to Mental mistakes .. Not on the part of physical effort. 3. The Saints view Kenny Stills as a Serious Weapon ... Although other receivers had better stats , the type of plays dialed up for Kenny Stills were long bombs and were very explosive . ( Reverse Sweep ). Assuming he can get his nerves in sync , we may have a Percy Harvin Kind of guy in Stills. Making him the most Dynamic and explosive Weapon for Brees Yet. ( No diss to Graham ) 4. Our running scheme is boring. The Ball goes to the strong side everytime , No misdirection or innovativeness at all . We cannot expect Ingram to Shine if a 9 year old pop warner Linebacker can diagnose our running plays before the snap. ( As my brother Carl did ) Although I have to consider that SP is keeping his bag of tricks a secret for Atlanta. 5. Preston Parker has something there. Reminds me of Meachem , who also had 2 TD's when he played at the Dome. I like him ! 6. John Jenkins should be a Starter. Every play he was smashing some poor sucker yards back into his QB and even got a Sack ! He along with the entire 2nd and 3rd string Defensive Front should be considered for respective starting positions , they did work ! Tyrunn Walker was after Chase the whole night ! 7. Nick Toon and Andy Tanner are serious ! Toon is a quicker more explosive Colston in my eyes. He made several clutch catches to move chains. I want him to start immediately. 7. No big worries ! Galette , Thomas , and Colston were out ... On to week 2 ! |

We may have played well in the 49er game but we still turned the ball over 5 times, our team was just that good we could overcome it
Agreed with the kenny stills thing, you could see payton trusted him by the play calls, he needs to start making those plays though Preston parker reminds me of brandon lloyd, very good hands, shifty route runner and can do anything you ask him to I want to see toon start, that guy could be a colston twin with more speed Our D line as a whole was much improved, jamaal charles could only get back to the line of scrimmage when he was being met Cam Jordan - beast, Akiem hicks - beast in the making and john jenkins looks to be a great future player for us |

4. It's preseason brother, supposed to be bland, and designed to test what fails. Personally I do not want the Falcons to see any tape worth a fk before week one.
Amateurs practice until they get it right, professionals practice until they fail. It's the basic concept of the US Special Forces; regular soldiers shoot until they hit the target, snipers and sharp shooters change the dynamic environment until they fail to know their limits. |

Re: Best Take Aways From 1st Preseason Game ...
Preseason is all about being vanilla and just evaluating players in base schemes, so I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the team performance overall.
And also you have to remember that naturally some 2nd and 3rd string guys are going to flash big time against 2nd and 3rd string competition, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they could replicate that against the 1st string. |

Cadet looks like a well rounded pro to me. The kind of guy that can come for an injured starter and do what you need him to do. Looking forward to watching him and the rookie battle it out.
