this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I dont think that his performance was in question as much as his durability. I hope he can stay healthy....

Re: Charles Brown
No way Marcel is better than Strief at this point. He completely whiffed a block and seemed flat-footed out there. I think it's gonna take a lot to develop thos guy.

We still have a lot more play time before I am going to be comfortable enough with Brown where I am not watching only him, but we are off to a good start. |

Re: Charles Brown
I liked him.
Armstead looked good too. I'll sleep a little better now. |

Brown is a very servicable LT, if he can stay healthy too. |

Re: Charles Brown
If Armestead and Brown continue to play well and stay healthy.. Strief could possibly be replaced by moving Armestead to RT next season.

Re: Charles Brown
IMO Charlie Brown was always the best left tackle on the roster including Bushrod, he couldn't stay healthy to prove it. Lets all hope he stays healthy this year bc there is absolutely no one to take his place if he goes down. No Way I trust Armstead with my franchise QB, he's still a rookie and did nothing to prove otherwise Friday night.

Re: Charles Brown
Brown doesn't have to be a stud, he just has to be decent. The only thing that semi-concerns me is that Bushrod was an awesome run blocker and Brown hasn't been seen as a guy that will push people around like that.
Strief is a very solid RT. I wouldn't even mind him at LT if the situation changes. People forget but he played there a couple of times in 09 and looked real good. |
